Rick and Morty

Quote:
Rick is an eccentric, elderly, alcoholic scientist who has moved in with the family of his veterinarian daughter, Beth. He spends most of his time taking his young grandson Morty (and later his granddaughter Summer) on dangerous, outlandish adventures throughout the cosmos and alternate universes. Compounded with Morty's already unstable family life, these events cause Morty much distress at home and school.
I don't know how many of you live in the US, much less watch American cartoons, but for newcomers this is no Family Guy or The Simpsons. There is plot consistency, character development, and feels you wouldn't believe possible. For those that watched Auto Erotic Assimilation and the season 2 finale say it with me:

WUBBA LUBBA DUB-DUB!

What a deeply disturbing yet endlessly hilarious show. Season 2 really pushed the boundaries of just what this show could be(come), and I can't wait for Season 3 to roll around sometime next year.

I assume by disturbing you mean feels. Family Guy is way ahead in terms of nonsensical violence, but it doesn't even come close to evoking the same emotions. I guess that's what happens when you get into the multiverse and science fiction.

Family Guy actually does have multiverse and sci fi elements, they just aren't as good . I mean, they're different types of shows, and Family Guy during its prime (seasons 1-3) was truly one of the funniest TV shows I have ever seen. That said, Rick and Morty can hit those laughing-so-hard you can barely breathe moments (especially in the commercial episodes imo) like early Family Guy could, but it also does it with a far more interesting setting. Rick and Morty uses genuinely interesting sci fi concepts a lot of the time.

But those are held up mostly by Stewie and often take a backseat to the main plot. Even when it does take the spotlight, it never goes into the ethical implications and psychological impact it has on the characters.

There's one thing I never understood. Is dimension C-137 Rick and Morty's original universe or the one they currently live in?

Wubba lubba dub dub! He's back! There was no Samurai Jack episode tonight. Instead, the first episode of the next season aired repeatedly with virtually no prior announcement or warning. Tammy, you bitch!

Love how Rick busted himself out. It was a step up from that matrix episode. Was that Mulan sauce a real thing? I wonder just how much of that origin story was real. Beth died in that memory. This would mean that Rick isn't Morty's.

Fucking Summer. i really liked the Citadel of Ricks.

Good job Rick and Morty.

McDonald's chef says he's looking into bringing back Szechuan McNugget sauce after a cartoon called for its return

I wonder how the sauce tastes like?

Rick and Morty is one of the BEST mainstream US toons to come across in at least 10 years.

Fortunetly the show has been getting exported to other markets as well, theres already Spanish, French, German and Russian versions. Hell, there is even a Japanese version on the local Netflix here!

Here's a fanmade cartoon using that infamous court case voiced by the voice actors.
