In ImageReady optimize bar there are two options for PNG files:
PNG-8 & PNG-24 I saved a jpg pic as a PNG-24 and got a file size of 240KB, where the PNG-8 one was just 116KB. Maybe you could try one of those to see if you can get what you are looking for. Then again, you could be asking for something else, or I could just be confused about the whole thing.

Let see if you can follow the step ... I'm going on memory here
1) Make sig as usual. 2) Create a new layer. Fill it with black. 3) Filter-> Noise-> Add noise .. 100%, mono, distribute .. erm.. uniform, so the noise is spread around nicely. 3) Filter -> Blur -> Motion blur ... set a nice angle and distance. 4) Play with layer blendmode. 5) repeat step (2) -> (4) as many as you like .. (more frames = bigger sig) 6) window -> animation-> make as many frame as step (5) 7) on each frame ... hide every other frame but one. Above is for rain, for snow .. 1) Make a new document ... width = sig, for height, make it 5 times (or more) 2) Find a good spot brush and litter the new document .. so it look like a snow .. easiest is to google for snowy theme brush, 3) Drag the layer to your sig ... make sure the bottom part is shown. 4) Make a new frame in animation window. 5) On 2nd frame.. nudge the snow layer to bottom until it reach the top. 6) Tween. Done ... Easy to follow? If you cant, then you'll have to wait till tonite (if I have time to make a tutorial for it)

Only part of it since I'm only animating the pic in the frame.. not the outside Sakura Quote:

Why didnt anyone realised that there are 2 step (-3-) Quote:
Mine on softlight. Quote:

Final result .. I kinda lower each rain layer opacity to 50% too.. so its a bit more subtle... you can leave it if you prefer.. Quote:

Riker's very easy tutorial for animated snow sigs
Step 1: Get the rest of the sig done first. Step 2: Make a new layer, then airbrush a white spot for the snow flake. Step 3: Duplicate the current frame in the animation tab, then move the snow layer a bit. Step 4: Repeat step 3 until the snow flake reaches the bottom. Step 5: Play and observe the animation. Step 6: Realise that the animation is jerky and sucks, thus deleting the whole animation while pulling hair out and randomly cussing, repeat step 3. Step 7: When you're finally satisfied with the animation, congrats! Now for 5731246 more snow flakes to animate. Step 8: Once the entire animation is completed (Yay!), you realise the file size is over sig limit (No!). Repeat the hair pulling and cussing stage.* Step 9: Finally, sig is completed! If you can reach this step, then you can proudly proclaim yourself to be a animated sig masochist. * Skip this step if your forum doesn't have a stringent sig limit. |
