Caught up to current chapters. The farmland saga has been excellent so far. Looks like it will end soon though.

Another new chapter is out. Still quite a bit of farming left.

Finally, the arc finishes next chapter. They even foreshadowed the duel against Kojiro.

I don't want to bring false hopes but Inoue restarted Real and in his twitter he is now drawing multiple images of Musashi among others. Hoping to see the return of Vagabond if the author can

It's way too soon to rejoice. He's very much an "whatever I feel like" artist these days. Who knows, he might draw more Slam Dunk instead.

Meh, I already read the Musashi novel by Eiji Yoshikawa and I'm totally content. It has less fluff and better pacing. Also, Kojiro is not supposed to be a mute. He's a proud handsome competent swordsman. This might sound ridiculous & outrageous but Fate/Stay Night's Kojiro is actually a better representation of him than the one in Vagabond. And F/SN is well-known for fucking up the historical/legendary figures that it uses.

He actually drew Sakuragi and Haruko in a date few days ago actually. I heard Inoue used to have a difficult position related to basketball which is why the series Real and Vagabond went into hiatus. Then again, Inoue said he had to remove one scene from Vagabond from the original Musashi as it was too dark and sad even for a seinen.

Which scene? The book had a few dark moments, but seinen manga isn't exactly known for its restraint and decorum.

Apparently Musashi once fought against a child and the result was too violent. He doesn't specify if it was his editor's idea to avoid it so I think it was more of Inoue since he was a bit sensitive by that time. I think this was just Inoue's idea because he also reflects that that elder's death that wanted Musashi dead was also too hard for him. Sorry, I can't find the magazine but I also remember that he talked in that interview about how he had to change the logo of the manga.

The magazine is Lazer from Ivrea Argentina and in its cover there were Sakuragi, Rukawa and Musashi as the main focus was Inoue's works. Apparently, Slam Dunk and Vagabond's popularity in my country was so good that the guys managed to interview Inoue.

I remember that battle. It brought closure to the Yoshioka feud (and ended the Yoshioka school once and for all), plus it showed Musashi's ruthlessness and pragmatism.
Inoue, please. Of all the places to get struck by conscience...

Inoue said in an interview that he wants to return to Vagabond soon because "the story isn't finished". Presumably with the Slam Dunk movie over with he feels like he can devote himself to it, though I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. Writing this series is obviously a difficult process for Inoue and he may find that he no longer has the stomach for it.

I would love him to write more slam dunk but I guess he should finish this one.

Weird that it was never published but there was also a oneshot about Musashi's last days by Inoue. Typical of Inoue he used more art than dialogue meaning it's quite long
