Nice episode, I also didn't get the line about who rescued the vendor's child. Instead I was expecting Satella to appear at the end. I'm curious to know the reason she gave him such a name btw.

It's just that I can feel this respawn ability will get in my way if they will play it too much.

Yes, and the character is pretty much 100% your general Koyasu archetype too.

I didn't get this either. Unless he found the little girl again off-screen, I thought he only found that girl wayy after meeting the apple vendor for the first time as the start of his new life.

It was clear as day what happened. Was the translation really horrible or something?

I think the timeline for the last day is more or less.

Subaru wakes up again => Subaru orients himself and determines the nature of his ability => Meanwhile "Satella" gets robbed, chases after the thief, finds the girl and returns her to her mother => Satella asks the appa guy for information => Subaru talks to the appa guy => Subaru has a run-in with the robbers again => Subaru goes to Felt etc etc.

It seems that while fate is rather sticky, it seems a bit flexible as to when what happens.

Anyway I wasn't expecting to be following this show, but I'll stick around.

I probably misread the line that apparently was "a broken kid like you" and I took it literally, like "such a broken kid", so it seemed the vendor was referring to Subaru.

I also thought it was absolutely clear that he was talking about Not-Satella.

I guess I misinterpreted that piece of translated text. I interpreted it as though the guy was referring to to Subaru, not Satella. That would make more sense.

Somebody else also pointed it out a couple pages ago that when Not-Satella appeared at the end of episode 2 she was wearing the flower we saw the girl giving her in episode 1.

I already watched this.
Last time the MC was a mad scientist called Hoohin Kyoma though

Not much else to say here yet the MCs ability is imho kinda usesless since he appaears to have a save point he cannot set himself.
Hopefully the point will change for future death's otherwise he will (hopefully off screan) have to play the repeat game each and every time.

You guys were like the 4th people to have the same misunderstanding, so I speculated perhaps the fault is on the translator for wording the line confusingly.

If that many people were confused, then I WOULD say it's the translator's fault to an extent. A couple of added words would've made everything clear.

I don't think so. They were just not paying attention to the details. Some stuff are supposed to be implicit and be inferred, one should expect them to be missed if one was not paying careful attention to the show.

I just hope Subaru won't end up like Homura did after repeating the same events time and time again

Hot damn, the animation quality was great. Definitely did the first arc justice.

It seems we are even getting some stuff that the manga skipped. Another really good episode overall, I'm really glad the anime is taking its time and not rushing things, even for battle episodes.
