Holland - Czech reoublic was easily the best match Iīve seen in Euro 2004, hell, best match Iīve seen this year. The Czechs really deserved that last goal.

I agree, I thought that after Italy-Sweden I won't see such a good match for some time, but Holland - Czech Rep. was just as good and entertaining

football (soccer ) is the greatest

I'm surprised Portugal won... I thought they were out of the tournament (after the loss against Greece, see earlier pages for heated debates)
I was wrong about it, my apologies ...oh well...Portugal is currently partying, big morale winner for the fans and players.

Partying is the right word... Here where i live, even the floor shaked a bit when the game ended, for crying out loud

Oh, and it's impossible to leave home without being glomped

I see, i always had confidence that portugal would do it, especially as the host nation. When i read your statement about them definitely being out, i was thinking how you was probably succumbing to the media vibes. I never thought that greece would have made it throug though!??!?! Anyway, you've won my respect, not many people would come out apologising.

Congratulations to the Portugeuse and Greeks.

Bad luck for the Spaniards (funny enough Portugal contributed in two ways to their exit. By defeating them and losing to Greece).

Onwards to seeing if England gets kicked out as well!

Thanks, the reason why I was so pessimestic was Spain. I never assumed Spain would be playing badly and of course giving the statistics was another reason why I thought Portugal was out of the tournament. Show how much I know of football, never read the statistics

Oh well too bad Russia didn't won with 2-0 or 3-1. I wished that Portugal and Spain would have gone to the next round. Instead of Portugal, Greece.

2 - 1 to england at half time

croatia score in first five minutes

scrappy goal by scholes in last 10 minutes of half and then rooney with a scorcher in last minute.

rooney -> vote for player of the tournament

40' GOAL! Croatia 1-1 England
Some great build-up play finishes with Lampard playing a ball through to Owen. His shot is saved by Butina; then the rebound is headed on by Rooney and there is Paul Scholes who heads in!!! Well done Paul Scholes!!
Quote:
45'+1' GOAL! Croatia 1-2 England
The boy genius scores his 8th goal in sixteen internationals. Owen in in acres of space on the right. He passes infield to Scholes, who knocks it on to Rooney who fires a drive past Butina from 22 yards out. Simply brilliant.

Go England!

68' GOAL! Croatia 1-3 England
Another one for England and another one for Rooney. Owen plays a great ball straight through the Croatian defence, Rooney runs clear of any attention and slips the ball past Butina. Superb!
Quote:
79' GOAL! Croatia 2-4 England
Frank Lampard's fourth goal for England! he picks the ball up outside the area, cuts infield, dummies the goalkeeper and then shoots past Butina.
A thrilling game with goals from Scholes, Rooney and Lampard. France should have lost against Switzerland.

Football's coming home!

OMG!!!

YES!

Sweden and Denmark to the quarters! Take that Italy!

Itīs the 2-2 the swedish, danish and italian newspapers have been going on and on about for 4 days now, and oh my god itīs fantastic. A whole stadium filled with nothing but joy and brotherly love. There where no losers at that stadium. Itīs fantastic. The Italians are going to throw such a fit over this.

But both teams where really tired after the 2-2 goal, they praticaly walked or stood still just passing the ball amongst themselves.

Henrik "Henke" Larssons goal in the start of the second half really started something in a game where the Danes were the better team with lots of missed chances on goal (conspiracy theoriests unite)

BTW, Mattias Jonson is the highest payed fotball player in Denmark

Bye bye you overgrown pimps!!!

What a bunch of sore losers. It gives them only a bad rep when their FA chief goes round spewing "There is no doubt that the way the Denmark-Sweden game developed shows that the two teams were aiming for a draw. Of course, proof of that is hard to find,". My gawds... it is not a scoreless draw. How are you going to engineer 2 goals a side without the slightest hint of trickery?! What a load of bullshit coming from a "premier" team. They are too proud for their own good. Remember what their reactions in the World Cup as well. Ha! Out you go and rightly so.

Congratulations to the Scandanavians!!!
