Pleased to meet you all PS : Ah one important thing : I'm a diehard fan of Maļ HiME/Otome and Code Geass, you better be prepared |

Little help please?
hey, so I'm completely new here. I'm Vice president of my school's anime club (which I helped put together). it was small and we pretty much disbanded, but that was because we were a rowdy group and kind of unorganized. I like to draw though I seriously just started a week or two ago, but I'm getting the hang of it. anyway if you know how to set up a profile on here completely let me know. I can't seem to figure it out. pretty much anything will help.
thanks, -Fang |

Greetings all!
I'm a 19 year old college student living in the United States. My most passionate hobby is my pursuit of becoming fluent in Japanese. I'm also interested in History, Games, Game Development/Programming(to a limited, and nolonger very prominent degree,) and various other hobbies/smaller interests. I actually used to resent/despise anime. All I had seen of it was the English dubbed shows which come on cartoon network, and was quickly turned off by the cheesy voice acting and bizarre, out of context(when you haven't watched it from the beginning) story lines. However, my brother started getting into anime, and downloaded a fan-subbed anime with the original Japanese audio. Since it looked interesting, and was in Japanese (which I had not yet began studying at the time, but was always curious of,) I gave it a try. I really enjoyed the show, and more importantly, I for the first time truly heard Japanese. Even though it was only a cartoon, it brought life to an (up until that point) obscure language. I had always had an idle interest in Japan, and learning Japanese was something that I "wanted to do some day." Hearing the language gave me the inspiration to further investigate it, which lead me to begin studying, and quickly become obsessed with it. So, though anime was by no means my reason for learning Japanese, it inspired me to do so, and gave me a "live example of the language." From there, I began watching other anime series. Though I must admit that even now, I'm not particularly knowledgeable of anime, and there are many "classic" series which I haven't watched. Well, I'll wrap it up with that. I apologize if this post comes out rambley or incoherent. Its late, and need some rest. I look forward to taking part in this community, and perhaps even making some friends. |
