But what explanation can Light offer for removing the bugs if he's not Kira? He could have just lied and told "Kira" that the bugs were gone while still recording. Surely the investigation team should have realized that the only reason Light would actually agree to remove the bugs is because he's going to say something incriminating, and if they had left in a bug they would have heard his confession.

in some instances where you have 1 second to decide, especially instantly after he just killed a sakura tv person. You might think getting rid of the bugs would be a request to honor if you want to live, it would be a dangerous situation for the investigation team.

Yeah I was a bit confused about how the investigation team were convinced to remove the bugs....... Would anyone be so kind as to provide a translation for whatever Light scribbled down? That's probably where the answer lies. I'm hopeless at kanji... and it's a bit blurry so some characters I'm probably reading wrong but here's what I can read so far: Kira "______________________" _____________ be ma de ro(??) to itte iru Yaru o __ zu _______ su. XD hahaha I suck... |

They had no time for a proper explanation.
Kiyomi is constantly being followed by a bunch of bodyguards as the spokesperson for Kira. Even then, they were all patiently waiting outside the room. Light fakes a message along the lines of: "Kira will send a signal to the bodyguards to search the room for any bugs; should they find any on me, I'm dead. I'll turn them off and hide them." They have no choice but to accept this, nobody really wants Light to die. Of course, it's all a bluff as Light would never allow the bodyguards to enter and see his face, but nobody knows what happened after the bugs are gone so it's all good. Don't worry, this convenient threat does add to everyone's suspicions. |

The whole of episode 32 was just perfect, a perfect Death Note episode that kept the same tension as the manga.
For a long time i've been worried how they'd show Mikami's backstory --- its needed, because it explains what drives him, his past that makes him the man he is today. I loved every second of it, new music was a much lovely added bonus that shall appear on the third soundtrack. It was love-love. <3 Kiyomi is hot and moe, so nothing has changed there at all --- her reaction to finding out Light was Kira made me so happy, it was delivered better then the manga. Light's 'player' act had me loling, though the second the phone rang, thats where it all happened, and just what i wanted to see. Sakujo. & lol Matt.

So many great episodes these few weeks. Every episode from every series seems uber buffed with greatness.
--- Back on topic... Great episode, really love the dark side of the hero-concept. A little helped along, but one of the smartest story developments I've seen in a long long time.
