Figured I'd post this as a bit of a preemptive warning for anime-only viewers interested in merchandise, just in case: They've begun releasing several items based on the manga and at least one of them depicts massive spoilers for upcoming anime events. So, be careful what you look at.

Has anyone bought Blu-Ray Anime before?

I know censorship is being removed for Ecchi Anime in Blu Ray but for AoT, how different will AoT be in Blu-Ray from the ones we are watching right now?

I`m seriously considering purchasing the Blu-Ray in support for the great works the anime studio has done so far for AoT.

It being in the Top 30 isn't crazy, it happens a lot as you can see with Kuroko, Magi and Blue Exorcist for past examples. What is crazy is what it already sold prior to the anime (probably more than the 3 manga i just named combined) and what it's currently selling.

It's a million seller (well at least the first few were, had big dropoffs later) that's currently pushing 60k for the week you posted as well as the following week. Kuroko and Magi were 150k mangas that moved 20-30k, Exorcist wasn't even a 100k manga before it got an anime.

SnK was already a big manga series, the list of million selling manga from recent times you can count on one hand, it's now with an anime push selling insane numbers.

I expect the anime to go be in the top 2 sales for the year alongside Monogatari 2... nothing else from the year should compare to those 2.

If someone make an "Attack of Titan" with Mami's head getting chewed off... that would be a good parody...

First week sales for Vol.1 are in.

BD 37, 339 and DVD 19,454. Total: 56, 793

Very good despite falling a bit short of estimates.

Too bad I don't like Figmas that much (I only got one of OreImo) I would rather have a PVC figure (but from Alter, Kotobukiya or Good Smile Company, I don't like the work of other companies--though that's just a personal opinion of mine).

Of course it's always good if a series gets merchandise and I won't complain. If there're no figures that I would like to buy I'm saving money so all is good
