Just started this series. I really can't wait until it gets to them fighting the Titans. I like the depression they have going on right now.

The whole "trapped in a city" thing makes me think of The Demon Cycle by Peter V Brett

egh... fantastic anime indeed...

watching people got splitted and eaten in early morning truly leave bad taste for me
lost all my appetite...

ep 1 :
this is what I like... not a SLOW START! epic development and perfect way in picturing the horror... Titans are disgusting but that big one is awesome... smacking wall like a boss
about their mothers... umm... well... that's the worst scene I ever imagined in my life... get your mother splitted and eaten in front of your eyes... so much despair for me

ep 2 :
more despair thing is incoming... the lack of food and using 250 thousand people to fight pointlessly is so cruel
I hope Eren's batch will give more promising result than the previous batches... they're lacking of fighting spirit because they never feel a true despair unlike Eren and others

oh yea... why they cut Mikasa's hair??? I'm sad...

Spoiler for umm....:

Well all ten volumes of the manga are in the top 40 on the Oricon chart this week, which seems like a good indicator that the anime is going to be a mega hit.

Let's keep the discussion on-topic and stop asking if this anime will get a sub-forum. It's getting to the point where not only will posts be edited and/or deleted, but warnings and infractions will be issued as well. Please consult the Anime Sub-Forum Principles and Guidance FAQ entry for more details.

Thank you.

I wonder what special engineer tools they used to mount a wall so high?

It's not Mahou Shoujo, it's Mikudayo! (and the Nightmare Fuel is still there!)

It pretty amazing how they do it once you know what it is.
Spoiler for About the wall:

In fact, the series has done a good job at explaining how certain things work, even if it kinda outlandish in some ways.

Hey, if the Ancient Egyptians can build pyramids, I can dig it that these guys with better technology can build 50ft walls.

Digging the series so far, came into it because of that Indian OP parody.

Cheers.

A quick question, if this is indeed going to be two cours. How will go on when they use up all the source material?

I doubt they'll run out of source material, the first couple episodes have already padded things with anime original material and I imagine we'll see more of it.

Not sure on where they're planning to end it or if they'll go anime original ending.

More importantly, for some reason the image of a FABULOUS titan is now cemented in my mind and it won't go away (need to reach for the brain bleach).

I just have a question that came to mind while watching ep2.

why didn't they just dug underground and lived there instead of building huge walls? wouldn't that be easier?

they can still grow food on the surface. from what I can see the titans were not interested in vegetables as a food source.

I'm guessing that they did live in caves at one point, before they built the walls.

I haven't read the source material so I wouldn't know.
