Love Get Chu - Miracle Seiyuu Hakusho

An anime about seiyuu? I'm there.

This is based on a cellphone game and is about five girls who want to be seiyuu. In the first episode, they go to an audition to get into training. Our heroine has a voice so strong it will crack windows. She wants a chance to meet her favorite male voice actor. There is a rich girl, a meganekko, a girl who only wants to play boys, etc.

The first episode was not wonderful, but good enough to keep my interest. We know they'll succeed, but the joy is in the journey. There is at least one love interest. Quite ordinary production values: not great and not awful. The character design works for me.

The voice acting is appropriately good. The star is a newcomer called Takamoto Megumi. Also in the cast are well-known seiyuu Ochiai Yurika, Yamamoto Maria, Shintani Ryouko and Enomoto Atsuko.

The director is Tougou Mitsuhiro, who was the general director of Wind~A Breath of Heart~ and Operation Sanctuary, and directed eps 5-13 of Comic Party Revolution. Animation by Radix.

It's a decent show, but the girls seem just a bit too bland for my tastes. Though it has adequate production values (i.e. the Shinkansen station looked really nice).

However, REC beats this (and I'd take REC anyday).

Oh gosh, yes. REC is of another order altogether. This is basically an attempt to cross-market with a keitai game. But I enjoyed the first ep and expect that it will become more involving as I come to know the girls, who I think will seem less bland as I get to know them. Of course, I am a total suck for anything to do with seiyuu, so I'm easy to please.

I just saw the subbed version of this. The characters are pretty way cute. I'm not as big of a fan of seiyuu, though. If the plot gets more interesting, I'll totally keep watching. I wonder why no one subbed this until now?

Full impressions here.

Yeah, I wonder why myself why no one had picked up this show until episode 04. And the first English subs out were by a group who normally sub only in Arabic. But, this is quite a fun show and like Kaoru Chujo, I'm quite easy to please as well. I've never seen the cell phone game before, but I suppose it must be quite interesting and popular for it to warrant an anime spin-off.

Ok, a word from this nosebleeders mouth:

Momoko-chan has got one seriously short skirt. 'Course I'm there

Loved the 5 eps so far, but something about the OP had me think since the first ep....would I see some romance between Momoko and Atari? Hoping for something like that...

and another thing, surprised the fanservice for Momoko-chan's skirt is at an all time low...or maybe it's just me and my nose .....ok, yes, I admit it, I was wondering if there are doujins for her.....work-safe doujins mind you

I finally got around to checking this out and the first episode was pretty decent for another Anime about Seiyuus. I personally liked how the president was being harsh to the seiyuus during their auditions. About the only thing that buggs me about the anime is the artwork is too cute and cartoony for my taste, though I'm sure I'll get used to it as the series goes on. Unfortunately it would appear that their isn't anymore interest to continue fansubbing this.....am I wrong?

Yeah I'm kinda disappointed that there isn't much interest either. If I can get a TL or TC for me, I could probably convince one of my groups to do it.

and BTW, isn't it Love Get Chu?

I'd love for someone Japanese to correct me on this, but I'm fairly certain the name of this thread is a better way of putting the name of the series than some other sources use. The name in Japanese is "RabugetCHU -- Mirakuru Seiyuu Hakusho," which I believe is a fairly colloquial way of saying "Love Game KISS -- Miracle Seiyuu White Paper." It's produced as a sideline to a series of games called "RabugetCHU" -- that is, "Love Game KISS". The "t" (written "tsu" in kana) between "rabuge" (love game) and "chu" (kiss) is more indicating a kind of emphatic pronunciation than actually meaning anything, I believe.

Okay, phonetically it would be Rabugecchu, or ラブゲッチュ in Katakana, which would normally pertain to "Love Get You". Since the actual title is ラブゲッCHU, it implies that it is a metaphor as well, in this case CHU, which is an onomatopoeia for kiss, which can make it "Love Get Kiss".

I suppose what's making it complicated is that this anime is adapted from the popular cell phone game, but the grammatical structure of the title has not relationship, otherwise it would be ラブゲームCHU.

This reminds of Akahori Satoru Gedou Hour Rabuge, in which the last word is an abbreviation of Zettai Seigi Rabu (Love) Pheremone and Sore Yuke! Gedou Otometai.

As for the anime itself, it's quite entertaining with educational values, especially if you're interested in how one becomes a seiyuu, whereas REC depicted the life of a rookie seiyuu.

The seiyuu playing the role of the protagonist Momoko, Takamoto Megumi, was selected out of 1200 contestants, befitting of the setting of the show.

It is also great to see veteran seiyuu Mitsuishi Kotono (of Tsukino Usagi/Katsuragi Misato fame), play an important role.

Here is a photo of the cast (left to right from bottom: Ochiai Yurika (Yurika), Sakamoto Azuma (Tsubasa), Takamoto Megumi (Momoko), Yamamoto Maria (Amane), Shintani Ryouko (Rinka), Midorikawa Hikaru (Minato), Takahashi Naozumi (Atari), Imai Yuka (Runa), Nozawa Masako (Takemiya-sensei), Mitsuishi Kotono (Eri), ?

Thanks, eggplant. Just what we needed. I think the best thing would be to go to the title used in the fansub, to make it easiest for people. But with the addition of the subtitle, so: Love Get Chu - Miracle Seiyuu Hakusho. I'll ask a mod if they can change the thread title.

I enjoy this series for its glimpses into seiyuu training. But I really haven't been hooked by the story or characters yet. I do note that both this and Lemon Angel Project have episodes involving a predatory soft-porn producer. I think that may be part of the fact of the entertainment world.

Thanks for the photo and especially the fact that the star was the winner in a big casting call. The voice-acting, fortunately, is one of the highlights of the show.

It's called なないろなでしこ (Nanairo Nadeshiko), by Maki Okada (a.k.a Maki-ru).

Oh and btw, Ayu & C1 have announced that they will sub the series.

episode 12

I'm still watching, and episode 12 rewarded me with more glimpses into the seiyuus' world. The show is not that well put together, but the voice work is still good, and mere familiarity is making me care for the main characters. I'm enjoying Momoko's gradual progress.
Spoiler for ep12:
