Supposedly firearms aren't that hard to (illegally) obtain in Academy City if you really want one. Vol15 have the then Skill-Out leader having several (at least he can spare one to give Shiage), plus in SS1 Skill-Out have various weapon caches in AC as they prepared for a coordinated city-wide attack on certain espers.

And the SISTERs clones are still kinda like 'clone troopers' that work for the Directors on and off. SS2 have them used to strike at 50 different places around the globe to secure the Gemstone espers and to protect Gunha against Ollerus. Even if anyone wishing to 'borrow' the Sisters' service will have to go through Heaven Canceller to get permission, just the fact the Sisters are still a fighting force that could be used for official covert op missions meant they can keep their weapons.

Well, one of the things I'm seeking to wonder whether one can own a set of Special Forces-spec firearms such as a simple cache consisting of a sniper rifle, assault rifle, an SMG, a shotgun and two pistols.

... Sounds to be impossible to procure in AC in legal terms, since as it is at least only Anti-Skill may have them legally. I guess I should be thinking about stealing weapons from some other point in AC (such as Skill-Out's weapon cache) then.

... By the way, I guess I should post what I'm planning to do with these bits of info in the Fanfiction thread?

For how many years has Academy City been making Espers? I'm guessing at least 20 years.

The incident with Sherry's friend happened 20 years ago, so it should be at least that long, I think.

In vol19 Aleister and Aiwass had a conversation near the end, and they mentioned Academy City has been established for 50 years. This was part of a off-hand comment where Aiwass mentioned someone suitable for Aleister's plan like Accelerator has finally shown up after 50 years of work in trying to raise one.

Still, it doesn't mention when Esper development really started blooming, I can't imagine there wouldn't be a lot of messy set backs in the beginning until technology reaches that necessary stages.

No. For an esper magician battle you'll have to wait for volume 20 i think...that, or the SS(either mikoto's or SS2)...

When magicians use magic, do they borrow power from a higher being (i.e. angels)? Is it possible for humans to have sufficient magical power so that they don't need power from a higher being?
