HHHEEELLL YYYEEAAAH! Zodiac Job system pretty much fixed my biggest complaint from the original (little to no differentiation between characters; job system allows you to give your party members an identity), and I'm glad they're bringing it in English officially now.
Now the biggest question is whether or not they'll allow concurrent spells this time around. I understand why they had to do it in the PS2, but now they have access to better hardware, will they go the distance and fix my next biggest gripe about the original? Sure it's going to mess up the balance of the game somewhat (some bosses are so much easier because of the delay), but I kinda want to have mages to kick ass this game. Before the damage cap really hampered their use in the original, IZJS fixed that part, but they were still lackluster since you can spell lock yourself out of crucial healing spells while damage spell animations were still playing out.

I played IZJS (Jap version) in the past and i am pleasant with its changes. The IZJS version really fixed a lot of problems of the original FF12 had. The most memorable feature of IZJS for me is that you can manual controlling the Esper and use their strongest attack at will instead of trying to trigger its conditions. It made esper slightly useful than original FF12 esper which players most likely ignore them for the whole game.
It is nice to see FF12 IZJS got some love from the developers. Hope that they will do the same for FF8 too. |

Well, FFVIII is like an oddball in the series but I can't see them do anything new with it as the game has already been available on PSN and Steam for quite a while
FFXII, on the other hand, can only be played on the ancient PS2 (and emulator on PC) until this announcement came

Carbon copy character system is simply not fun to play. It may be amazing changes in 90, but it was just not longer appealing feature in present. Can't wait for FF12 Zodiac Age. Now I have the reason to get PS4. |

Playing on a PC at 1080p doesn't look dramatically better than it did on the PS3. I like the license boards and roles. In the original game everyone could have every skill so the characters differed little down the stretch. I can't remember a FF game where I've found so many ethers! With the much bigger MP levels and the early availability of Charge, I'm not sure I see why there are so many.
