I think Jiraya's death had a better soundtrack. At least I felt more of the impact of the scene.
Also, the subbed episode I saw didn't have the same last words that I read on the translated version of the chapter of this part. In the manga, it was: "I'm sorry, Sasuke. Maybe next time..." "I'm sorry, Sasuke. Maybe next time..." "I'm sorry, Sasuke. Maybe next time..." And the last words were: "I'm sorry, Sasuke. There won't be a next time..." I don't know if he said it like that in japanese, but in the subbed version I saw it was "I'm sorry Sasuke, this is it.", which (to me) took a lot of the power and meaning of the original words. Best character to me. |

I really liked how we constantly got to see the same flashback over and over again.
You know the one with the famous quote: "Run, hide, cling on to life..." Itīs been shown us so many times, that we actually believed Itachi being the bad guy to be the undoubted truth, so that when Madara told us the opposite the audience felt the same way Sasuke did (just not as extremely, of course). I just love how repeating the same scenes over and over and over again can really make up for a great moment. But the one thing I didnīt like about the episode was the translation of Itachi's important line when he poked Sasuke's head for the last time. In the manga it's meaning was much clearer (at least in the translation I read back then). Manga: "Sorry Sasuke, there wonīt be a next time." Anime: "Sorry Sasuke, this is it."

So has the name of the anime officially been named Sasuke Shippuden? I mean, we haven't seen naruto do anything note worthy since his defeat of Kakuzu. I like getting background, but it seems everything is about Sasuke. Even Naruto's immediate goal in life is centered on Sasuke

The Passion of the Itachi huh? He died for our sins, what a gas...While i always had a seething suspicion Itachi was a martyr of sorts, who knew he would be the reason I got a neat Polo Sport watch as a present this morning...December 25th will officially be Itachi-san's birthday I guess...So he put the Amaterasu in Sasuke's eye so he could kill Madara off before he could read the Itachi chapter of scripture? Damn that's Niisan love forya...I said that Madara kicks a$$ with fire-side chats, and boy did he kick my a$$....
These last two episodes more or less turns the entire series' on it's a$$, and in even some ways validates the rough patches of naruto as series we've had to deal with...Can't say it wasn't finally worth the wait to understand the incredible depth of what this show is truly about now (Itachi's shonen glory mini-skirmish in Konoha vs. Kakashi and company was just a precisely timed appearance to spook the $hit out of Danzou after the 3rd died? I did not sleep on the amped up musical device that made my lip nearly quiver off as it was revealed ... Characters like Orochimaru, Gaaara, Zabuza, and the entire Akatsuki being mere fodder in the face of what was revealed today...Still dissapoints me the level of Jesus-ness Itachi's character has absorbed now, but he must be rolling over in his grave to see that all of his efforts have now been turned into $hit a bit as Super-Red Starlight Sharingan-eyed Sasuke now embarks on destroying Konoha...Or am i wrong about that? So I guess Sasuke's Takashalaka team will eventually don the Akatsuki garb eh? In any event I still think a more epic Itachi vs. Sasuke fight would have done nothing to harm this stellar conclusion of a storyarc...It would have made more sense in terms of Itachi testing his full capacity, but I guess only having one thing to gripe about is a good thing for this suddenly best shonen-fighter currently airing called Naruto Shippudden (And only Itachi Jesus knows why it's still named Naruto )... Merry Madara season yall^^...

Good episode. I always had a suspicion that Itachi was a deep down a really good guy with a really good reason for killing his clan.
It is too bad that Sasuke is always his hot-headed, self-centered self; instead of realizing what his brother has fought so hard for and following it through, he chose to totally disregard his brothers feelings and efforts and doing the complete opposite of his brother's wishes. He plans to destroy Konoha, yet again spitting on Itachi's grave. He is so misguided that I am wondering why the show is so focused on him. As for the filler debate, I too thought that the next episode was a filler with all the rapping that went on. However, after seeing Sasuke in Akatsuki uniform fighting eight-tales guy, I had hopes that it wasn't a filler, but still was not certain. Yes, anime only watchers cannot tell filler from non-fillers, unless an episode is so over the top dumb-down.

Sasuke Crying Moments Can't Stand It
Ahhhh ..finally we knew the truth Itachi Itachi Itachi .. although it was painful seeing those flashbacks and knowing the truth but still what he did is unforgivable imo . Next week .. Sasuke looks cool with Akatsuki outfit I loved the flashback when they were so young, eating dinner as a family and using shadow clone in hide and seek I wish we could do that when we were kids Best part: Sasuke's Mangekyou Sharingan .. Beautiful shape. Painful part: "I'm sorry Sasuke, this is it" I was crying at that moment and cried more when I read what u posted "I'm sorry, Sasuke. There won't be a next time..." OMG why they changed it?! .. the last one got more meaning Whether filler or not .. Naruto is the best .. and don’t arguing about if it's clear the next ep will be filler or not .. u wanna know the answer, u must ask non manga readers .. well as I am one of them, im gonna tell ya .. for me & some of my friends, it was clear that the next ep is cannon not a filler but some other friends doubted about it .. so I think it was not very obvious and I can say experience plays an important role.
