I actually never saw Beck... I heard great things about it but watched the first couple episodes and was bored to tears; couldn't get into the cast or the music.

Preferences aside we haven't really heard Kabe on anything that's actually produced aside from the ED, which is a cover (I posted the YouTube in this thread a while back). We've only seen the rap battle stuff and him riffing with Eiko. Having a rap breakdown is super common in R&B and EDM and has been for like 30+ years now so I don't know what you guys have been listening to.

We know now Nanami story and Azalea. EIKO really is lucky to have Koumei.

At least Azalea was scouted and EIKO was going to give up before meeting him, in the end the project, the fans, the money is what it kept them there even if they hate it. I don't blame Nanami for her choice, sometimes one has to do things they don't like to reach heights.

Nanami has achieved success, but at what cost? She was forced to wear lewd outfits, sing music that isn't her style at all, and was eventually told to just pretend to sing during concerts. She's of course hating it, and the only reason she hasn't quit is that she doesn't want to let down the staff and her fans. But it's slowly eating away at her. On the other hand, her two friends seem to be happy making big bucks, making it all the harder for her to quit.

I think it is worse for Nanami because she could probably go solo, but her best friends would probably only get exploited more if she left, or they'd end up going back home, and she's essentially the one who put them up to going to Tokyo in the first place.

She couldn't bear with both being guilty of prolonging their dream to no real success, and being the one who actually gave in even when the other girls backed her in the initial refusal. And ultimately convincing them to wear the lewd outfits and stop performing for real while on stage.

At least to Nanami, the entire compromises they've gone through are all her fault. She can't just leave the two of them to satisfy herself alone after all that. She changed her friends for the worse (money over art!), and can't bear with thought of doing it to them a third time.

Look, I get that Karasawa was marketing them as idols instead of a band (they were essentially told to lipsync because he wanted them to focus on their dancing), but then why was Nanami the only one who had to dance on stage while the other two got to keep their instruments? They were even doing dance lessons together!

Honestly that pretty much sums up my view of the series as a whole, which is why it has a hard ceiling it can’t seem to break through.

Kongming handing over the battle windbreaker was kinda funny. Sekitoba Kung fu had a really nice flow, though Kabe sounds more... youthful, I guess.

I won't be as radical here, but the last couple of story arcs could have been around 30-50% shorter. I get it they want to end on specific manga place but they are still dragging it.
