I know something bad will happen. Imai knows how to play his cards, in this chapter Seth and Solva were brought back through a cheap yet easy to understand manner, and in context with what the Almighty was implied is capable of doing. The reader may now think that with such development none from the main cast will die, but I'm perhaps one of the few who's already sees he's gonna pull us one big.

This is just the end of one part of the story, it has been just the beginning, and in no way we are getting a happy conclusion.

You know, I wonder how long it'll take before the others realize something is happening to Blade and intervene. Hell, what if Cruz does something to block Saten's attack and allow another Needless to kill him (my choice would be for Mio to squish him) or, at the very least, incapacitate him or something.

Although Saten said it'd only take 2 seconds, who knows how long it'll really take and how long it'll be before someone does something about it. Keep in mind, with Eve's head in his hands, everyone is watching Blade and will be suspicious of something should they notice a considerable change in Blade's activity should it be that transparent of an attack.

Though this is Saten we are talking about, the one who sent Arclight and Riru to their eventual death. You would thik he already thought of something in order to prevent any interferences. Or he may have no need, since, honestly, who would think that a sliver of brains would be alive at this point. To make matters worse Blade can't move, and it doesn't look like he can talk, too. Only Yamada is smart enough to figure out what's happening to Blade.

Surely Blade should be able to counterattack, but Eve's life is hanging down a string and Saten might even threaten to send his mental attack through her, and she's completely defendless.

Perhaps is that I'm too pessimistic, but Blade couldn't have been put into a worse situation than that.

Just from what we've seen, it appears as though it has enough power to paralyze Blade and for Saten to defeat him for good. The point is, right now, we really have no clue what'll happen as a result of Saten's mental attack. It might kill Blade or it might not. Or it might be somewhere in between.

You know, if it were up to me, the entire manga would be about Setsuna, but I don't think that her killing Saten would be the most appropriate resolution to the current situation. The reason why I suggested Mio is because she's the most childish, innocent and caring person in the manga, so for her to be the one that defeats Saten would be both shocking and gratifying.

Also, I'm not sure if time will be an issue in the final chapter, especially if Cruz can block Saten's attack, giving anyone the opportunity to defeat this monster.

Yes, I agree with this. Saten never once did something without a really good reason. And it surely won't be any exception this time, too.

But do not mistake concepts, Saten isn't a liar but an expert in the art of deception.

I'm still wondering if Ishiyama won't make an appearance and deal with Saten himself. He has already saved Eve once by injecting her with Edenseed and has shown he's powerful(he defended himself easily against Seto's attack, etc etc) so he might have reasons to help out Eve again or just deal with a tool(Saten) which has lost it's use to the 666 committee. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Ishiyama has been observing things from a distance to intervene when the time's there.

Shortly put, Ishiyama doesn't know the truth, while Saten knows. He's the very incarnation of the demon pulling the strings from the shadows.

Yeah, Saten is using Triple Six but that doesn't mean Triple Six isn't using Saten either. Who knows, they might've done something to him when he was still a developing Adam clone that'll give them superiority over him should he betray them.

I wouldn't put it past Ishiyama and Triple Six to do something like that, especially since Ishiyama is always calm and aware of the situation.

I still can't see Blade dying at least by something we know is currently happening like this mental attack. If Blade could get done in by something like this, he would have died earlier in the series. If Blade's going to die, it is going to be by a surprise attack not just for him but to us as well, like Gido cutting off Eve's head. It will be an instant with no explanation of how it's going to happen before then, like Saten did in this latest chapter. He lost all chance of killing Blade by going into a monologue of how its going to happen. However, we know Saten isn't dumb. As others mentioned, he may have an ulterior motive for this. I mean he said Blade was going to experience his whole life in those two seconds. Is Saten's aim to know what Blade knows of how he acquired Shield of Aegis and turned the tide. Blade shouldn't have been able to win by coincidence. He knew he would have Shield of Aegis when the angel came.

Anyway, I suspect this mind battle to take only five or so pages. We still need Blade to heal Eve, the next group if antagonists have to make an appearance, Eve has to have a psuedo death scene only to turn out fine and endanger Cruz's life again, and we need to know what's happened to the world.

The Second Christ had power equal to a god, but in the end deep inside he was still human and got killed by Triple Six.

Saten is using his deception skills, and Blade is going to fall for it. How? I don't know, I'm unable to anticipate anything after how the most recent developments overcame all our thoughts.

Did they ever explain why, since they have all of this cloning technology, they didn't just clone eve and take half of her cloned brain to restore Kasumi??? I still think she looks too much like buy cruz.

Not explicitly but it'd probably have to deal with all the trouble that the Adam and Eve Projects had with their subjects with 70-some Adam clones dying and at least a dozen Eve clones dying before obtaining the right one. It does seem kinda odd that they were able to use Karin as a prototype of Eve, add in bits of Kasumi and then add Adam's Doppelganger to create Eve but that they can't do the reverse process. Either that or they can do all this, just that the technology wasn't exposed to Eve following Gido's abduction of them and the subsequent sealing of his memories from his time with Triple Six.

Also, I guess we know how Triple Six originally killed the Second Christ before the start of the manga... if Triple Six was able to seal the gate, then it doesn't seem unreasonable that a powerful organization with lots of guns would be able to take him down and experiment with his body.

^ Seems a likely scenario. The interesting thing about the remains of the 2nd Christ are the scars on his chest and neck. If the 2nd Christ was still as powerful as ever, those scars wouldn't have been there. I mean we've seen him fully restore the face of a little girl(no scars).

That suggest whatever powers he had (at the moment he received the wounds) they weren't as powerful as they used to be and he wasn't given the chance to fully recover those powers. The 2nd Christ shouldn't have died because of the wounds we've seen(torn off lower body etc) so it looks like he ran out of the stuff he needed to heal himself

And now that scenario is repeating itself: someone achieves godhood, the gate closing, Triple Six...

There was only one way the Second Christ could have been killed, and it's as you guys suggest. As soon as he died so did the angel that fused with him, hence why Saten didn't become Almighty that time.

The gate had been closed many times. Their efforts were futile, I know, but just a few seconds with the gate closed up was all Triple Six needed to kill the Second Christ.

Hmm, I've been trying to find out more about Cruz and found something interesting when I put some facts/events together.

Spoiler for Theory about Cruz:

• According to chapter 45, Blade and Eve were created in the year 2114. The Adam Project explosion was also during this year.

• Chapter 1 starts in the year 2130.

• In chapter 103 we learn from Riru that the resistance was founded by a woman named Mizuha who worked alongside the second christ. After the Adam Project explosion she found a black box with the dna code of the second christ stored within. A chip containing the blueprint of god.

So if I understand this right, Mizuha found the dna code of the Second Christ 15-16 years before chapter 1. Mizuha was the founder of the Resistance Cruz was in. Cruz looks to be 15-16 years old. Coincidence?

Then we have some more hints, pointing towards Cruz being something more than a regular needless:

• He has the strongest anti-Needless/anti-Angel fragment.

• He seems to be one of the smartest characters in the story.

• In chapter 100 Cruz awakens and the colour of his eyes change, surprising even Arclight.

• In chapter 101 the hole Arclight made in Cruz's forehead is mysteriously closed. There wasn't any sign of Eve using doppelganger on him. Is this a hint or a mistake of the mangaka?

• Cruz has a scar on his chest at the same spot where the Second Christ had a scar. Coincidence? This scar came to be because Saten let Cruz 'die' and then he let him be revived by Eve.

• Saten has been protective of Cruz throughout the manga. He seems to know something about him.

• Cruz's sister, Aruka, has been with Simeon for a long time. She too seemed to know more about Cruz. She seemed to want to keep the chip in Cruz's head out of Arclight's hands. Why was this? I don't think this was just to protect Cruz. Was she working with Saten?

• In chapter 47 Gido and Obito are shocked when they see Saten use doppelganger, saying that it was still in the research phase. They reacted like he wasn't supposed to have it. So where did he get it? In the half year that he was living in the black spot? And who gave it to him? Mizuha?

If I'm not looking too much into these facts/events, there seems to be a connection between Cruz, Second Christ, Mizuha, Saten and maybe Aruka. Saten didn't know about Shield of Aegis though, so it looks like even Saten doesn't know everything. I have a feeling that the mysteries about Cruz will be saved for Needless II though.

Theory 1:
Before the Second Christ died, the Angel was somehow transferred from him to Mizuha. That's why Saten didn't get the full power of the Second Christ, even after absorbing his remains. Later Mizuha transferred the Angel to Cruz, a Needless she 'created/enhanced' with the dna code of the Second Christ. The Angel inside of Cruz is the hand of light protecting Cruz. The Angel was sleeping/hibernating until Cruz 'died' and was revived by Eve.

Theory 2:
Cruz and Aruka are children of Mizuha and the Second Christ. This would make them partly human/needless/angel hybrids.

^ Cruz is 14 though, says so in his character profile. He had to have been born two years after the explosion. However, Aruka had to have been alive, because she's 18 since the start of the manga I think. She would have to be two years old during the explosion, and was born two years before then. The events depend on when the Second Christ disappeared (aka killed), and how old was Mizuha when she became his companion. She could have just been a little girl when she first met him. This just may be my theory, but Mizuha could very well be the Black Madam. She doesn't give her name, and has no problem with keeping secrets, and having others keep secrets.

Right now Saten's body has been almost annihilated and wants to kill Blade through his brains. I've been wondering why he would do that, and I just recalled that the main goal of Arclight apart from becoming Almighty was to take over Blade's body. Currently Saten needs a body, though he could also take over Kasumi's.

^ However, that required a special surgery with needing only Blade's body from the neck down. That procedure was only the clone Arclight's goal because he didn't have much longer with his current body.
