air gear

Air Gear is pretty popular from what I understand, but it basically just looks like a skateboarding show. If that's the case then I don't think I'm going to be interested in watching it, but if someone could tell me why they like it'd be most appreciated.

It's one of my favorite anime/manga, because it's unique to me and something you won't see repeated in other manga/anime shows especially when talking about the story.

Yes, but how, exactly what is it that makes you read (and/or watch) it every week, that's what I'm trying to find out.

I don't know how to describe it without spoiling it, I guess you'll have to watch/read it. For me, I'd recommend reading the manga first as the anime is kinda loose from the manga.

First of all (at least for me), is because of Oh! Great's amazing art.

Secondly, each chapter/episode has action and if not there's a good reason for it. No fillers too.

Thirdly, main character is technically a shounen character but definitely a unique kind, no regrets or procrastination and bullcrap like that... (though more and more are starting to appear). plus who has ever heard of a main character having a pooping disorder so that whenever they go out they have to take a crap, pronto. Thats freaking amazing!

Fourthly (is there such a thing as a fourthly?), in the manga the plot is very delicate making it very hard to predict what will happen at the same time giving the reader the capabilty of speculating on what will happen. (speculating is fun to me)

Fifthly, Oh! Great successfully made a stupid ass sport like rollerblading look so awesome. (with the help of technology to make you go super fast)

I can probably think of more, but these are what come up to mind.

It is essentially, a skating show, but it is SO much more than that. Once you start learning about the different teams and the whole premise of it, it will become addicting.

Another thing : THE OST/MUSIC rocks

Really, it has great OP/ED and I like alot of tracks in the OST, especially Mr.Shine.

Air Gear is something refreshing if you are bored of the repetitive same type of anime shown here and there. You might like it, you might not. I enjoy the show but at the same time I don't think it is THAT great

I'm female, and I hate ecchi... still, I LOVED what I saw of Air Gear, and I don't really know why. It's not the subject matter or the story - Air Gear just exudes "cool" on every level. I wish I could quantify it better than this :/
