They did a good job at building up towards the upcoming fight this episode.

The suspense, reappearance of the Beast Titan with the others, analysis of Anna's hardened skin, Sasha's message, etc.

Felt bad for Connie though. Glad to also hear some of my favorite OST from the first season this episode too. They better use it for some of the upcoming battles.

Man, the animation nailed it. Why is it that some characters don't have their gear? It's the worst preparation to go to the battlefield.

Also, some Titans' designs keep going from scary to hilarious.

^ it was mentioned they didn't have time to put it on.

I loved some of the shocked faces when the beast titan appeared.

Good lord, I fear the worst for Connie's village. I doubt they were able to escape.

And what the heck was with Ymir and Reiner? What did he notice? And what teh F does Krista know?! What is happening?!

There is some scary potential speculation to be made coming out of this episode. I have a very bad feeling about Connie's village. I mean...that thing was trying to talk to him. Unless it was a delusion which I guess is possible.

There's too many scary factors here. A lack of any hole in the wall being one of them. These things don't appear to be the same kind of human Titans like Eren can become. Did that ape throw them over the wall? That's probably the most optimistic scenario I can think of.

Connie's Village, the lack of a hole in the wall, Titans that can move at night, the creepy beast one that can fluently communicate, the mystery around Krista, etc. All of it seems pretty important at this point. Curious to see how much the story is going to tell us about what is going on in the next few episodes.

Sasha definitely deserved that potato. It was funny that she arrived just as the mystery person was revealed, but it wasn't actually her. Was just watching Naruto so the difference in Levi's brutally efficient leadership style rather stood out.

Eren the eternal bitch, he is by far the worst character. I mean, he barely does anything except scream or get saved.

It escalated quickly. He barely said anything I mean, Eren already beat a lot of Titans and even Annie in season 1.

And the current day isn't over yet. That day has to be one of the busiest day in the entire series.

The production of the anime has been spot-on and well-paced so far. Hope they can keep the quality up. I can understand if they need more time to do so, hence the one cour decision.

Poor Connie. So who knew Crista knows more than she's letting everyone know and Ymir might know as well if everyone remember that one OVA episode.

Not going into any spoilers here, but I feel they really screwed his character going from the manga to the anime. He seemed to be far more in control of himself in the manga, especially after Annie's reveal last season.

Ahh, I remember there was a time in the second part of season 1 where 2-3 episodes were dedicated solely to the team just riding inside a really large forest, that was really boring.

What I'm saying is that I like this pace, it's almost as if they're making up for lost time

Yeah, I like basically all the characters but him (and his friend). But I suppose there's some intention, Levi this episode spelled that out asking to Mikasa he either can't see why she cares so much for him.

On a more serious note, I'm really digging the pace and the mood of this second season too. There's no time to take a break so far.

Question Conny's Village People are the titans inside the wall!!

i have a theory.. i think the whole titan thing is very old, i think it started with people transforming into titans by scientific methods and whatever happened they became enemies with humanity, i think these titans hold the secrets and they know a way to transform people into titans (non-intelligent titans), i think that beast titan is from that generation, he's an outsider and he has never seen the cities inside the walls and he's never seen a 3d manoeuvre gear. i think he just came, climbed the wall and entered the city we all saw how he climbed the wall in the latest episode so easily, i think Conny's village are the titans traveling in the city (since no hole in the wall was found) and the beast titan went there and transformed them and he's controlling them, remember the village was wrecked with no blood or remains found with a-weak enough to walk- titan resting on a house suspected to be Conny's mother.. and the beast titan is controlling them, Human titans can control other titans like Annie, the colossal and the armored titans.. may be Krista/Historia's family knows the history and knows the secrets, maybe Annie, the collosal, the armored titans and other titans are just trying to have vengeance from mankind for what it did to their families ( the Generation that turned into titans and made enemies)

it's just a theory im assuming everything logically but im positive that Conny's VILLAGE'S PEOPLE ARE THE TITANS INSIDE THE WALL!

This was the second time I rewatched this episode, and, like last time, I became overflooded with a huge load of information to process.

First of all, Connie's village:
Last episode, centered most of the spotlight on Sasha's background and her efforts returning to her hometown. For her relief, the village and her folks got away without or with the least casualties.

Connie's interesting as well, because he stands as a foil to Sasha in terms of behavior and reaction, though both share similar traits in their personalities: whereas Sasha's blessed with acute, mental agility then Connie does his thing with physical agility.

The fact that it seems that Connies' village people and folks vanished out of the earth without turning into titan fodder looks fishy, and I cannot shake this feeling that reading Bertholdt's reaction he look worried with anxiety, as if he had a bottled up feeling inside about something he knows or suspects.
Lastly, the titan that demolished Connie's home what made it so more disturbing than greeting Connie was:
1. From its anatomy, it couldn't develop its extremities.
2. It looked more like the titan itself came bursting from inside the house and not from the outside.

Then, I can only conjecture the titan could be a shifter as well, but that's not plausible due to its behavior unlike the beast titan.

This mysterious invasion, in turn, is connected to the enigma whether Wall Rose was breached or not, and I have this strong feeling it isn't. Precluding two possibilities:
1. The titans came from inside because all are shifters capable to turn into titans, though their behavior and intellect suggest that are the regular and abnormal types.

Or, the next one with more sinister implications....
Spoiler:

Then, we cut to Ymir and Christa. She's concerned about the latter due to her family connections, according to the former. Following, later in the episode the pastor cultist cooperates to give a single name due to the massive amount of guilt he felt from within after witness to his despair and horror the massive evacuation of refugees due to the wall supposedly falling.
It turns out to be Christa's revealing that the cultists are in charge at monitoring her due to following someone's will, which could either be Christa's estranged family or another clan.

And, the unpleasant surprises do not end there. I mean titans capable to walk at night without sunlight, and whenever they cut back to the beast titan heading and climbing the wall I can only pinpoint it as the mischief maker and mastermind wreaking this new chaos.
That, and that both Bertholdt and Reiners' reactions were more startling than anyone else. Their faces littering with shock suggested as they already had acquainted themselves before with the beast titan; I won't exclude the possibility that beastie, perhaps, was the culprit that ate Reiner's other friend whom he mentioned the previous season.

Lastly, something is amiss with Ymir, because for Reiner to react with such astonished reaction meant he made a ghastly discovery on Ymir that she desired to keep secret and safe at all costs.
