Maybe it would be good to let MangaGamer know. They could improve the Steam version of Higurashi by including those sprites.

They announced the release date for the second arc just 2 weeks in advance? Weird.

I'm curious as to how well the first one sold. I can't help but notice that this community's...pretty much on life support. Seems like this release is the only thing keeping it alive.

From what MangaGamer has said after the launch of Onikakushi is seems it sold very well.

Well, it is getting on in age... I love Higurashi to bits, and could discuss it endlessly, but all fandoms have a point where they settle into a relaxed, quiet mode. Higurashi, unlike Umineko, doesn't feature a fanbase dedicated to preserving the right to argue forever. We all agree.

If any of the PS2 content ever gets fully translated, that might spark something new. but that's not on the horizon as far as I know.

So, on one hand, it sold "well," but on the other, it wasn't enough to revitalize the community, huh.

Funny you should mention PS2 content. Earlier today on Tumblr, I saw something about a full PS2 patch or something for the main story arcs. Don't know much about that kind of stuff, though.

What is everybody's opinion about the tradings cards of Watanagashi potentially spoliling the twist of Shion being a separate person from Mion. It seems there is a trading cards which names Shion and one with both Shion and Mion together on it. I'm unsure if these cards would spoil the twist.

Ch.2 Onikakushi also had a trading card/achievement which spoiled something about Rena. It was removed after fans pointed it out.

I don't think Higurashi is really made for achievements and trading cards

EDIT:
From what I have heard it seems the trading card does spoil the twist. Shion's trading card states that she is Mion's older sister. The blurb spoils her not being the same person as Mion.

MangaGamer also seems to have made a mistake in blurb. Shion is indeed the older one of the two twins, but MangaGamer probably meant to put on there that she is the younger one of the two. Shion being the older one is only revealed in the 5th arc.

Not really. That revelation comes in the fourth episode (maybe there are hints in episode 3 as well). After playing episode 4 is quite clear she is the main villain, no doubts about it.
