Speaking of plot, there's only one more chapter left in Japan (we are way behind). However, there may be a plot element that gets dropped 'cause gag humor before everything else. But if that happens, I'll rant about it later.

just saw the chapter 565..
and from the looks of it i think Maria is a residence of royal garden before athena perhaps?

i mean when they go on date with hayate if i remember correctly or if she goes outside the mansion she always looking for some stuff that doesn't belong to the current Japanese era..

i hope we got Maria a proper backstory before the series wrap it up

Impossible. Not enough chapters. At best, the final chapter might mention something, but that's it. It won't be a proper backstory. Its a shame really 'cause Hata-sensei wasted so much time, there are a number of things that won't be resolved.

Honestly in the past I always said:

Open Ending: 50%
Athena Ending: 30%
Hina Ending: 10%
Ayumu Ending: 10%

But as we were getting closer to the ending, I started to hate the idea of an Open Ending, I mean Hayate's life was sh*t, he deserves a happy ending with somebody he could love, the idea of Hayate keeping his role of butler taking care of nagi for years is not something I like

Any manga/LN author that ends his story good should get a gold star, as SHIT endings permeate the industry.
This is the worst ending I've seen this year.

I'm really glad it ended the way it did. Been loving these two for 10 years now and I'm glad he didn't disappoint.

This takes me back to when Nagi entered icy cold water to fight off a giant shark with her puny fists

, or destroyed her entire inheritance with a nutcracker to prevent Hayate's headache, and all the dozens of times he said some variation of how Nagi was his life itself.

Face it boyos, even if he didn't have that ecchi dream where he and Nagi were caught out by Maria, while he was knocked unconscious by Himegami in that second last fight, noone would want a husband that's in limerence for life with another girl.

Sometimes it's there and you just dont want to see it.

One of the most predictable endings ever, 10 years just to see Nagi winning by default.

It wasn't a bad journey that's for sure but this ending man... cliche as hell.
