If I remember correctly, they suspect Subaru is with the cultist guys because of his dark magic affinity, so he's actually walking a tightrope during his stay in the mansion.

Ros will have him killed if he acts too suspicious. When they sense the death curse on him, that crosses the line.

Beatrice of course knows better, but she doesn't care to tell anyone.

They suspect him long before he finds out he has dark magic. Whether it's because Rem smelled the witch, his request to live there, or his odd circumstances that led him there is hard to say.

And the curse has nothing to do with it either, since Rem still tracks him down to kill him (though Ram delivers the killing blow) even when he didn't get bitten.

I guess it is never said explicitly? But yeah, there are many factors.

When he returns from death, they can sense even more bad mojo from him, and now that's happened inside the mansion...

Then it's a vicious cycle since the more he loops, the more loopy he gets, suspicion increases.

Finally he invites Emilia on a date, that's just bad in many ways, so maybe the curse doesn't even matter.

I just imagined that since Beatrice can identify it at a glance, others sensitive to magic would probably be alarmed.

Yeah, the witch's miasma/scent actually has nothing to do with affinity. Petleguese is an Archbishop of the Cult and exudes the same miasma Subaru does, but his innate attribute is earth.

Soo in the end CR skipped 11.5 which was the Memory Snow OVA that aired on JP TV.

It hard for me to believe that they would do this willingly and not Kadokawa mucking around in the background. In Anycase it sucks.

They ended up getting Memory Snow last week so it did finally happen. I haven't been watching the Director's Cut since from the looks of it nothing significant has been added yet compared to base season 1 (its mostly animation edits or small alterations to scenes).

Hopefully the virus won't majorly effect production even further than that, let alone other series airing next season .

The Julius x Subaru fight at the beginning of this arc was so dumb. Subaru just acts like a lunatic, more so than usual.

Subaru thought he was in the clear and it turns out he still couldn't save Rem this time .

Y'know, I saw online that this explains why the letter was blank and why Ram never asked about Rem. I noticed the latter last week but I really should've thought harder about it. I doubt Rem was eaten by a whale on the way to the capital, so what the heck is going on .

But yeah. There was a lot of strange happening in hindsight and with everything going on it was easy to overlook. It one of things that makes the rewatch fun thought. You just end noticing more things than you did the first time around.

Was this scene the only new one in the entire Director's cut? I stopped bothering to look up the differences at some point because they were completely irrelevant.
