Full Metal Panic Manga

I know that the Full Metal Panic series is based off of the light novels which, from the information I could gather, are still ongoing. I was wondering if anybody knew if the manga extends past the main plot of The Second Raid anime like the novels currently out do and if so will they continue following the books untill the novels reach a conclusion.

Are you talking about the ADV released graphic novels of FMP? If so, I think they are only up to the part of the hijacking of the TDD, because they insert the side stories in between. As to your question, it all depends on the sale, if the graphic novels sell then they will definitely continue with the project as long as it is profitable. Right now no forecasts yet.

P.S. I'm not a fan of the graphic novels myself but if ADV is releasing the novel version translated into english as it is released in Japan, they will definitely get my dollars.

As far as I know the manga have only been translated up to book four, but I believe there are currently at least nine in Japan. Kj can probably help you there. I think the last major event in book four (Fumoffu/side-stories are included, which slows the plot down) was... ah, Kaname and Tessa have just been kidnapped.

Only to book four? Then how do you explain the eight volumes sitting on my shelf? ADV was supposed to release the ninth on 2/28, but it looks like it's been postponed. I'm confident that it will be released though. I think the ninth volume might be the last. The first manga covers about the same material in the novels as the first TV series did, some of the side stories that went into Fumoffu, and some side stories that haven't been animated. There appears to be a new FMP manga called FMP Sigma that will cover about the same material as TSR. Then, of course, there's Overload which doesn't use any of the previous incarnations of FMP as source material, but is an original series targeted toward a younger demographic.

(God... this thread is incredibly old...)

OK, some doubts. First, is Sigma finiished? And if not, how many chapters/volumes are there?
Second, I read in wiki that there's a manga called "Surplus" and wiki explains nothing. So, what the **** is it?
And last, what is overload about?

Hi people! I'm a big fan of FMP! manga series -yes, ALL of them- but I don't know nothing about Comic Mission.... Can anyone help me to find it? Arigatoooo!!!

Deadwings: Sigma isn't finished yet and it is in the 7th volume (maybe in the 8th...).
About 'overload' (Ikinari) it's a fummofu-like manga where Sousuke is compared to a dog in the most of time and the drawings are very different from the original ones. It's funny ^_^
Surplus has the same style of ikinari but I have it in japanese so I can't tell you what is it about...

Gomen for my bad english.

Sayounara!

The first four volumes of Stigma have been translated to english already. I got them through a local anime store easily enough.

IIRC, Chuang Yi of Singapore is licensed to release Sigma in Singapore and in parts of SEA.

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but since I can't actually make any threads, I thought it would be appropriate to ask here. I've been trying to find somewhere to read Comic Mission but I can't find it anywhere whatsoever. Anyone know where to find it?
