Of course, now ep 12 illustrates another potential fate of Ginko. He's done a good job of helping others, but can he save himself? |

I got the impression that
Spoiler for what Cal-Reflector was talking about:
Ginko meets up with many females, some his age (and one even a Mushishi), but he deals with them in the way he generally deals with guys - maybe a little nicer, but that's about it. If they deserve his respect he gives it to them. Here's a list of his encounters with the primary (or one of the primary) character in the story being a woman. Spanning vols 1 to 6. Spoiler:
I still haven't watched ep 15 yet but IMO that's probably a better... "candidate" - though onestly this show isn't meantto be taken apart for those kind of things. :P

In other news, ZOMG YES! I was hoping they'd make Akatsuki no Hebi animated, and they are - that is episode 16. I seriously was touched by the end of that story. It's about
Spoiler for for ep 16, pretty much complete and very long!:
Eheh, I just really liked that chapter (the last bit in particular) for some reason. EDIT: I have the same reasons for respecting Ginko as you, Muir Woods. Wandering souls have always touched my heart...

Whoa!! They're going very fast, these are the next eps according to Newtype:
17. Uromayu-tori (vol 4 chap 16) 18. Yamadaku Komuro (vol 5 chap 23) 19. Tenhen no Ito (vol 6 chap 26) Volume six at episode 19 already! I guess they'll be doing a bunch of back-jumping from there on.... unless... unless it means they're making new material? I wonder if they will - the manga is assisting the show's production... By the way episode 19 will be storyboarded by the famous Akitaroh Daichi (Grrl Power,Fruits Basket, Now and Then Here and There, Legendz, Kodocha, Jubei-chan, Ojarumaru, Atashin'chi, Animation Runner Kuromi...) ...

I can understand Ginko wanting to settle down, especially after viewing episode 12. That episode is very tragic. Spoiler:

I saw episode 16.
Spoiler for Episode 16:
I understand why you really like this story wao. It certainly became one of my favorite episodes of Mushishi thus far. BTW, thanks wao for your complete detail and explanation of the story, it clarified some parts for me. Last edited by Muir Woods; 2006-02-13 at 17:26. Reason: Changed one wording... |
