In the end Naruto becomes the "true" sage and begins instrumentality and recreates everyone in his views. Kyuubi floats to outerspace afterwards.

I was thinking about the same thing. Now that we know cloning is a plot device it seems to me like Tobi is a clone of Madara, which would support the theory that the last casket Kabuto raised was the original Madara body (the theory behind clones is that the soul of the original does not exist in the clone which would explain why Madara said "Where did you get that?!" when the 6th casket appeared.) However the will of Madara would live on in the clone.

This would also explain what Itachi meant by "Madara is a shell of his former self." The shell literally being the clone body with his will but not the original spirit (we can see how important the original spirit is in the Naruto universe because the Impure World Resurrection is very powerful although only the spirit and not original body are revived).

All of this would also make sense as to why Tobi doesn't have his original abilities or eyes. He's probably been strengthening his clone body without the spirit to eventually take the spirit back in with a fully condition clone body. This would also be in line with his plan on trying to gain the same abilities of the Rikudō Sennin which would include the ability to give life to objects or in Pain's case; return a spirit to a body (as seen when he returns the spirits of the people they killed during the Konoha battle).

^It could be that the only way Madara could achieve his dream of becoming a new Rikudou-Sennin was to create a new version of himself that contained both Uchiha and Senju. Specifically, unlike Danzou who just added an arm, Tobi is a specific body created to house both Senjuu and Uchiha powers (that either the original Madara inhabits, or is a completly seperate entity from the original Madara, though it probably has all of Madara's memories/etc), and from that the Rikudou's powers would emerge.

Whatever the case, it'll be a mystery for awhile yet...

That is another way to look at it; none the less there was a major significance when Zetsu called him Tobi, its obvious that those three know something that nobody else know hence why none of the people there nor Zetsu himself corrected when he said Tobi. Since the truth is known between them there is no need to continue the facade about Tobi being the "original" Madara.

If Madara's so called "original" body was summoned by Kabuto, Tobi should've dropped dead. So stop with that stuff already.

Impure World Resurrection doesn't summon the original body, only the soul, the body is from some random dead person (remember Orochimaru sacrificed those two genin from Otogakure to raise the First and the Second hokage) so he Tobi wouldn't have dropped dead at all.

Besides what I was stating was that Tobi could be a clone of the original Madara with all the memories and mannerisms attached (if you've seen The 6th Day with Arnold Schwarzenegger this clone theory may make better sense) which would explain why he freaked out at that 6th casket since the soul of Madara would have been attached.
