What have you seen previously?

Pretty hard for me to pick a top three.

1: Maison Ikkoku
2: Starblazers

After that... well lets go with Neon Genesis Evangelion today.

Add Elfen Lied and Spice&Wolf and you've got some good viewing here
Fate/Stay Night is a bit of a marmite series, some love it, some hate it, largely because the protagonist is just a little useless for most of it.

My personal top 3 would probably be

Spice and Wolf - Fantasy Romance wrapped in economics
Elfen Lied - Errr, blood, decapitation...a lot of fun
Full Metal Panic - Humour and Mecha with a touch of romance

They're a lot of fun, depends on what you're after.

For, my top choices are shows that I do not mind watching over and over again.

1. Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex. Both seasons and OVA. Some of the best writing and plotting in an anime.
2. Macross Frontier - Great example of how music can provide that complementary energy. Also very well done cliffhangers at end of each episode.
3. true tears - Short and sweet with good plot development for a relationship show.

I agree with these even they aren't at quite top of my personal favorites, they're must see for almost any fan. For third I'll say The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.[Though Clannad is more of must see if you are romance fan]

Alright, so i forgot to mention a laydown of the stuff I'm watching. I just finished Fate Stay Night and found the ending incredibly well planned and touching, although the middle story was a bit of a meh. Yep, I'll admit it, I cried :P Maybe someone could recommend some good-ending touching animes too?

As for animes that were really good in my book that I watched:
Code Geass (AWESUM)
Full Metal Alchemist (haven't watched the second season, it got a bit boring, maybe I'll go back to it)
Spice and Wolf (a bit, haven't finished the first season, it also got a bit tedious)
and....
um....
that's kinda it My friend did recommend ghost in the shell, and i'll take up some of the other suggestions too. A million thanks!
...
MY GOD FSN WAS SOOOOO GOOD

If you liked FSN, try the F/SN Visual Novel. It may be a pain to get (legally), but there is an English patch for it, and it is hundreds of times better than the anime.
