Nice episode this week. Got some Twi'lek cultural info and Thrawn was very Thrawn. The voice and intonation still seems a little too affected, but I sure can't complain about the writing and the characterization.

Over the course of the episode both Constantine and the Iron Squad were lucky that the other side are complete idiots. But at least Iron Squad have the small excuse of being kids.
Also, while everything obviously a part of Thrawn's plan, I can't help but imagine him sitting in his room, being all angry at the fact that Constantine is just way too lucky and can't die. Last edited by AntonKutovoi; 2016-11-21 at 06:08. |

Keep in mind that even our protagonists still haven't seen the actual Rebel fleet. Just Commander Sato's group. Thrawn is toying with the rabbit now. He's not going to bother actually chasing it until it runs back to its den, since that is his ultimate goal.

The person at the end of the trailer is being voiced by Stephen Stanton. He already voices Tarkin and AP-5 in the series, and also voiced Admiral Raddus in Rogue One.
And I still think the TIE Defender is a ruse of some kind. Perhaps a boondoggle of a project that didn't live up to its expectations and would have been scrapped completely but for Thrawn using their proffered existence as bait to draw in the Rebels. For one thing, their sudden reveal is far too convenient, and for another, if they're that badass, why didn't we see them in the Original Trilogy?

Too expensive. The Empire typically wants its fighters cheap so they can have hundreds to thousands in a battle, rather than a fifth that number. Also hyperdrives allow pilots to defect.
That or the X-wing proves to be just as good at blowing up expensive TIE fighters are it does regular TIE Fighters and the middle ground TIE Interceptor is just better cost wise for what the Empire gets out of the situation verse the pricy Defenders. Darth Vader's TIE Advanced x1 being an expensive TIE as well, but likely bettered armored than the Defender. Also likely modified to Vader's specification...if not by himself personally (that boy who built a pod racer and modified his own Jedi Starfighter is still in there). The expensive part would take over once the Empire is building a second Death Star and 13 or so Super Star Destroyers at the same time.

The Empire paid for that mistake when 265 of Tie Fighters were destroyed by a single Wing of X-wings in a campaign. |

Rule through Fear. That is the Galactic Empire. Not superior weapons (though that helps), but scale and intimidation value. Mile long Star Destroyers that can hover over occupied cities. Enough TIE fighters to fill the sky with their wailing cry. The Death Star.
"Fear will keep the local systems in line. Fear of this battle station." ~Tarkin. The Empire cannot be everywhere at once...not with a fleet made from quality materials anyway. But they can scare the locals into submission with what they can show off. Than when a system does rebel....crush with overwhelming force of numbers, or just destroy the planet...one way or another.
