Why are shounen battle manga with DFC love interests not very popular?

One other reason is that a lot of dfc girls have bad personalities and are mostly tsundere characters.
Another reason is the fantasy aspect of it since you have these overpowered guys why not go all the way with the fantasy and have them end up with big breasted women.

I meant in the context that within many manga of this type, the milquetoast heroine winning trope is not nearly as common overall, not necessarily having to do whether or not they are popular.

Hard to find some battle manga that had a DFC with well-written personality ending up with the protagonist especially if you don't read lots of those.

About the last sentence, that isn't particularly true. Not all battle shounen does have fantasy elements, and secondly some battle shounen manga have some of the guys ending up with love interests with medium-sized chests or lower and those tend to be decent a lot of times. Personally I prefer these series to have some chest variety and doesn't have to be all about big tits for one.

Serious question do action-shounen authors not make a slender female romance lead because the demographic doesn't like it or would they buy it regardless of politiCUP affiliation and the writers are making an ASS out of U and ME

They can, but to make it happen it's usually some magazine (usually monthly) with very lenient content restrictions and editors with much more open minds, perhaps even extending to weekly mags such as Shounen Magazine and Shounen Champion.

There's also a (different) fact that shounen authors think making the MC ends up with the most bigbreasted character of the cast is distasteful wish fullfillment so they pair the MC up with someone who has more or less normal sized chests depending on the context, although it's slowly relaxing in recent years with the rise of christmas cake romances.
