Hmmm, both are good picks. I want to see Cana weaker side and Mira being out of character for kicks!

What can I say about the FT movie?
Just this: it fell short of my expectations. Spoiler for QUITE a Lengthy Review:
All in all, I'd give the movie 6.5 out of 10. I actually think a score of 5 is more fitting, while 7 is just too much. Just my opinion, of course. For a person like me who pays more attention to the story than anything else, this movie gave me much less than the hype I expected. No thanks to you, Mashima and your teaser posters. (Yes I'm referring to THAT, Natsu and Lucy). Hmph. Despite my rather poor reception, I still think they should make more FT movies. The Big Three anime have several; FT just has one. The Grand Magic Games arc feels like it is reaching a climax which would be worthy of a full-length movie; but then again, they could just use another original plot not found in the manga. |

This is old news, but the English dub of the movie will be premiering at Nan Desu Kan in Denver, Colorado from September 13 and 15.
I was hoping if someone would be able to go and pick up on the English cast members, especially for Lily, who will be making his very first dubbed appearance here (Animax aside).

Eclair - Jessica Calvello (the first voice of Excel in Excel Saga) Momon - Tiffany Grant (Asuka in Neon Genesis Evangelion) Cream - Scott Zenreich (complete unknown) Pantherlily - Rick Keeling (also unknown) There's also word going around that one Taliesin Jaffe is playing Dyst. Lastly, this trailer is a version not uploaded by Funimation, but still the same trailer; hopefully it won't be blocked where you are, Max. Funny thing about it: it plays up Duke (not Prince) Cream as the main villain, seeing how he technically is for about 2/3 of the movie. Yeah, like the guy who takes up a whole third of the box-art betraying him was such a twist. Shyamalan would be proud.

Now that this is out, I wonder who plays the other incidental characters, namely Cannon, Coordinator, and Chase. And maybe Gran Doma, since he's a recurring character on the show. After all, it premiered at a convention, so someone's bound to know... and bother to put it online...

I have to be honest, I found the movie a little disappointing, don't get me wrong, I'm an avid Fairy Tail fan but it felt like whoever was in charge of the story didn't do very well. The premise of the story was very good but the execution was pretty lacking.
Spoiler for It spoils the ending of the movie this thread is about, I'm illustrating my feelings on the ending.:

After watching the movie again in the dub, I remembered just how boring it was. I mean, I've only seen it in full once before, and watched specific clips of it I liked after that. But going through the whole thing was actually kind of a chore, something the voice cast that I love so much could only barely hold together. And even they had their weak moments.

Memories of the first anime start flooding back with that trailer. And the main character designer of this movie didn't even work on the anime before. See, this is how the anime is supposed to look: bright, deep, and glowing colors. If the third anime can capture that look rather than the muddy gray colors the Tartaros arc introduced, I just might sit through even the most infuriating moments of the story.
I wonder if the manga will still be running by the time the movie is released. It is in its climax, after all. Do we have any idea whether it's placed before or after the current arc, or just in the general time frame but can't logically fit anywhere in the story, like the early Dragon Ball Z movies? My money's on before, because of Natsu's arm bandage that he was sporting.
