KyoAni primarily does adaptations. They are very far removed from the character design process, other than minor stylistic tweaks to streamline animation. Hairstyle, dialect, etc, are chosen by the original character designers long before KyoAni enters the picture.

Why don't they take Kanon of and then put this up. I suppose a swap-out couldn't hurt in the long run. Then when this is over they could swap out for Clannad. This is why I seriously think all could be solved by reserving slots for the major companies like Bones, Gonzo, Sunrise, Kyoto Animation and Gainax.

I hope I wasn't the only one who got a good chuckle out of Tsukasa and Kagami when they imagined Konata working in a fast-food restaurant.
If you ever go to a McDonald's in Japan, order a smile. It's on the menu and free of charge. |

i've been accused of that (haven't ridden bikes in ages, they got no armor). Since that pic I dropped the mustache and grew out the rest of the hair for that Capital One barbarian look for SCA re-enactment and Ren Faire nonsense. She dresses as some fluff I picked up on a viking raid "somewhere east"

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone thinks that Lucky*Star will go halfway following the 4-Koma adaption way and then switches to maybe a more plot/story driven type show? I mean, even if there's a lot of material to cover in the manga, there might be the possibility of getting stale like the "villain-of-the-ep" thing from Jigoku Shoujo. |

I dunno... Azumanga Daioh managed 24ish episodes covering 3 years of high school (lots happened yet nothing happened... so to speak).
Lucky*Star has managed 3 volumes (is the 4th out yet?) of funny without missing much of a beat..... really the series is much like Peanuts --- there's really nowhere to "go", its just life's little bits. From a series perspective though, you kind of wonder how they'll handle the last episode (not that Paniponi Dash really "ended" either....).

Like I've put it in MT, LS is the AzuMan for the new breed of Otaku with the anime female archtypes and the moe designs.
Time does pass in LS if you look closely at it with the change in seasons and the character ages. Azuman had 3 years worth of run and this is the 3rd year for LS, so I have reason to believe that LS will be done with both it's anime and 4-koma run around the same time. |
