Not really sure what to say...

It was funny and cute in ways, and the quality itself was pretty good too. And, it has been since Fruits Basket since I watched a zodiac anime... I think.

I'll keep an eye on it.

I totally wants to change my Zodiac to a Cat.

Rat, Ox, Tiger, Cat, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Chicken, Dog, Pig.

Technically, Tiger and Cat are both same thing, it's probably why they got "merged" together ;P

(there are many stories about why Cats were left out)
(main thing is because 12 is the "perfect number", like Calendar, time, etc etc)
(and the number 13 is associated with bad luck)

PS: watching chibis fight... is so cute... lol

I am not sure how the legend goes but i seem to recall the rat tricking the cat or something. Thats why cats hate rats now.

that one's probably about how the Rat Tricked the Cat to help the Rat get onto the Ox's head so they can "both" get to the front line because the Ox was in first place.

But later kicks the Cat off into the water (which is why cats hate water) and than gets to the finish line with the Rat jumping off the Ox's head for first place and the Ox gets second.

While the Cat finally swims onto land, the race was already over, so the cat gets lefted out.

I'm not sure whether to call this a guilty pleasure or not, but I am somehow still enjoying it. Yes, it's stupid and raucous, but the look is great, the characters have something to them, and the pace somehow makes the lame humour and jerry-built plot both work for me. And the backgrounds, especially in the other world, are great. The magic of animation.

Interesting cast, too, including Uchida Maaya, Oohara Sayaka, Nabatame Hitomi, Fuchigami Mai, et al. And Murakawa Rie (Nyaa-tan) is doing a nice job as a comic lead. (Scroll down on this page for pics/VAs of most of the characters. Mouseover to enlarge pics.) It was enjoyably disconcerting that they played Moo-tan with what sounded to me like an American accent (VA Matsui Eriko, who was Benio in Engaged to the Unidentified).

Well, episode 2 was quite a blast for me on the visual, and by extension, technical parts of the show. I like how I am supposed to be looking at a 3D model yet they seem to flow nicely with the visuals. The background work is also very impressive for a TV series (IMO). I don't know why but I'm getting fond of Nya-tan... if only at her own expense as well because I like it when Shimono's character gives the tsukkomi to her.

This will be a season keeper for me.

Oh wow that development certainly caught me off-guard. Probably not gonna matter as much in future episodes given the tone of the series so far, but man that was good. Love it when shows give me surprises.
