novel adaptation was perfect. Up to the small info. Though it's kinda hurt in the anime. Just like episode one. They do great adaptation in introducing the master. But long talks are long talks..... tends to get boring but it's not like I don't like it that much. Specially bro rider finally shows up and in the next episode title. The mad beast appears.
Though how did you ended up knowing the score I put?

Really? The only fight from F S/N that I liked was Archer vs Berseker. The rest was so bland I don't remember a thing about them.
Episode was alright. I rather liked the kajiurago song, even if we only got to hear a bit of it. Truth be told, the fight was as dragging as I remember it was in the novel. But from this point onwards, my knowledge about what will happen is limited so most things will be new for me. And Rider was so perfect, like always. ♥ |

I don't understand the complaint. I thought the choreography was great as well as the entire fight scene. I was squeeing so much from this episode. It was perfect. My only complaint is that they cut out a priceless comedy scene between Waver and Rider on the bridge:
Spoiler for not really a spoiler:

The fight was really cool imo. Only minus I would give, is that the epic music started too late - after Saber undressed her armor. Whole episode would have been more impressive if the music were more epic from the beginnig.
Well, it's a tiny minus from me, I just love this show so much Oh, and who was the master again - Rider or Waver?

Saber vs Lancer was pretty awesome, but I thought it was a tad underwhelming for a battle between servants at first. It got better once Lancer unleashed his noble phantasm(s).

Heh. Heroes aren't really legendary for the ways they died. Didn't Barbarossa drown in a pond because he forgot to take his armor off? And Arthur(ia) was betrayed and backstabbed. Long as they had their GAR moments that's all that matters

Finally we see a fight animated in the Fate franchise that has been given the treatment it deserves. This episode was all kinds of awesome, being quite possibly the single best episode i've watched all year. The pacing, dialogue and choreography were perfect. Not to mention the god like Kajiura score, with it's brilliant music placement.
To think that such an episode this early on. Oh boy, i'm giggling like a schoolgirl just thinking about the possibilities for the rest of the series.

The slow fight made it a lot more intense than the typical short, fast and furious fights where you cant really see what is going on. Here each move is considered, applied and the results are clear to see. At times however, it felt a bit claustrophobic with really up close shots. Was obvious that Saber wasn't going to roflstomp Lancer and it was obvious that both spears were Noble phantasms, but I can't see I expected Iskander to jump in. If the show can continue to have some more varied fight scenes it will be awesome, but nevertheless this episode was very impressive.

Fabulously fearless fantastic conflict in this episode, with just enough breaks in the action so that ...
1) I have no risk of getting tired of it. 2) I get to see what those who are personally invested in the conflict are thinking, and are up to, so I get a more complete picture of what it all means. This is what I've been waiting to see in Fate/Zero, and thankfully, that patience is starting to pay off. Loved the combat between Saber and Lancer, loved the dialogue, loved the tactics, I loved just about everything about it. And then Iskander the Great makes Fate/Zero go four-for-four with outstanding cliffhangers so far. 10/10 for what was, for this action-lover, the best Fate/Zero episode yet. Can't wait until next episode. ^_^ Not to Gen: This is what Sayaka vs. Kyouko should have looked like, dude. Keep that in mind if you do a Madoka Magica prequel/sequel/AU...

Enjoyed the Saber vs Lancer fight. Who did she say he really was i missed it? SO Saber's wound won't heal for the whole grail war? Lol at Iskander giving away his class and name as an introduction. Best entrance ever though. There is no way Waver can keep him under control.
