I think that's probably the reality. They really don't have much time left for socializing given that long working hours, let alone dating. This show have been super-sugarcoating the harsh side, but it isn't absent.

Episode 1 + 2

So Aoba is fresh out of highschool and is now working in a game making company which is the same place which made her first and favourite game. And she ends up working on the third installment of that very game. She is so happy. Lol Aoba looks like she should be in middle school even though she is 18 years old. And everyone thinks of her as a child. Lol the character designer of her favorite game ends up being a person who sleeps in her panties. Hifumi is kawaii. She is a totally different person when talking with her mouth and when talking through messages. Aoba's Neneecchi is exactly like Aoba and people mistake her for being a middle schooler despite being in college. Lol when Aoba thought that Yagami is in her thirties and Rin is 23. The alcohol outing was okay.

Overall this looks like a cute little fun show. The characters are cute and fun. The artwork is very good which is no surprise since it's Doga Kobo and they generally have good artwork and cute girls. I'll continue with this one hoping it maintains this level of amusement and cuteness.

I'll be honest this series didn't even blip on my radar but after seeing such positive reviews for episode 1 in this thread I became curious and tried it. Was glad I did, it's a cute series with so far enjoyable characters, I ended up reading the manga as well, wasn't disappointed with that decision.

There's no bug. In this day and age, the case does not necessarily indicate the quality of hardware that goes into a computer, and game development teams often make use of higher end hardware anyways, so it'd be inappropriate to assume they're making use of the Insperion line for their work. It's nothing to lose sleep over, though.

It's rather normal for commuters in Tokyo, but there are some notes to that:
1. It mean she need to wake up at 6:30 while she can't reach her bed before 2400 today (first day) if you take into account the time of dinner/etc. That mean you won't have enough time to sleep and you won't have any time to do any other thing in the day.
2. While it is common to have commute time of this length in Tokyo, but that's usually caused by people living in neighbouring prefecture as rent within Tokyo is high, however it is not the case here. Both her home and the company are the relatively center part of Tokyo and their straight line distance is only ~10km.
Because of the way rail lines are laid, she have to ride to Shinjuku first before she can get onto a train that can reach her company which lengthened her commute path length by more than twice. Also, both her home and her company are ~1km away from the nearest train station which mean >10 minutes walk at both end.

i love kansai dialect so much but its so hard to understand without subs this ep was a little harder on me than the previous ones on the regard

anyway who would seriously write "breakfast was too good" as a tardiness excuse ?

aocchi struggle remind me of my own when i started working as i took like 3days to write a single program only to have my boss tell me "it work but its unreadable as hell, redo it"

next time its himeko time ! i can't wait

Yep, Aoba being late is generally punished by sleeping overnight in your underwear . Not getting your pay docked, written up, or serious warnings . Well luckily for her it isn't that serious a show.

Not sure either that using an excuse of nobody really paying attention to a background villager is a good tactic . You are being paid to make the best darn villager you can here. Sure it is accurate that people don't care that much about the background....but you probably shouldn't say that to your boss .

The character definitely came a long way from where Aoba first turned it in for checking. Was pretty rough in the beginning, but certainly all the pushing made it come out better. Obviously can't take that long on every villager, but I get the idea of really pushing for perfection with th first one. A lot of lessons she can take into the next character and incorporate those things without having to be checked up on first.

Is pretty amazing still that she did get hired with only drawing experience for characters . Certainly a company that doesn't mind training their employees from the ground up.

Well, most companies wouldn't devote that much attention to making each individual NPC. While it certainly does make the world feel more alive when people do do it, it's a lot more work and time, and that's time that could be spent on other things. Still, this company is known for it's detailed, unique character designs, so when the person who draws them tells you that you can render them better, you just say "yes ma'am" and get back to work.

This episode was impressive. Since this series started I've read the manga, but seeing Aoba's struggle play out on the screen makes it hit home more. And that moment where she's talking to Nene on the phone and realizes what she's been missing... That was good.

From starting off with usual hijinks to ending up actually feeling some fairly strong emotions from the show, this is definitely an episode to remember.

They way they are showing Aoba's working environment including how she gets there has a feel of realism to it especially regarding the morning hours. Glad to see the series is keeping in pace with its premise about game designs as well.

I think the humor is decent too (even got a small laugh from those panties jokes lol)

Episode 3

Lol Hifumi's reason for being late was that her breakfast was too good. What kind of a reason is that? And Aoba couldn't get up on time because her mother wasn't at home to wake her up in case she overslept lol. And they were so honest that they wrote the real reason for being late despite Yagami telling them that she'll let them off. She can't let them off if they're being late because of taking too long to finish breakfast.

And Aoba's first task of filling the place with NPCs turned out to be too difficult as she had to do it again and again for the perfection Yagami wanted. Was nice seeing her take her work seriously as she was the last one to leave for the whole week, excluding Yagami who sleeps there. And then she gets her second task to do the same thing but in three days. And that will soon lead to her finishing each character in a day. Can't wait to see Aoba sleeping there with Yagami in her pantsu.

Episode 3:
I laughed at Hifumi's reason for her tardiness. I mean, she's enjoying the food very much!

Meanwhile, I have to say that Aoba Suzukaze learned so fast that she's taking notes from her mistakes as well as taking suggestions from Rin Touyama. In any case, glad that Aoba made her first NPC character that was approved by Kou Yagami. Then again, she's a bit slow on completing it but hey, Aoba is learning!

So from this episode, the time they have to attend the company is actually 10am which apparently is also the industrial average, unless it is 10.30... Just that in ep1 Aoba go back to the company almost an hour earlier....And this can be facilitated by changing from local train to regional express and then to express train in same line before changing to JR...

I won't say it's too difficult, instead it seems to be what it take for newcomers to gradually learn about what it take to make high quality character for games.

I wonder what kind of accent Yun will get if ever New Game gets dubbed. Boston, New York, or Southern/Texas perhaps?

Spending a lot of days working on just 1 NPC, but I think its good for the company to try to place newcomers to a standard to build a habit of detail for when they get assigned more important work, so I thought that was good management.

If the deadline was closer, the boss probably would just okayed it after the first few tries, but they seem to have time, so she just sent the newbie back to polish it and themselves more.

A good way to build experience and help Aoba understand what was wanted and needed in the project.

I like the attention to detail in making it look like a real work environment, like how they're using Wacom tablets and Cintiq's for their design work. Something I'm actually in the market for right now as it happens!

Shame they're super expensive ;_;

Every 3 or 4 days Ko goes home. Rin doesn't let her stay in the office 24/7. Her health would deteriorate.

Well, Yun speaks in a rather normal Kansai accent, the type you can't just make jokes about. Her Kansai is just that good.
