In a fansub I watched a few years ago at my school anime club they flat out said his senses were destroyed yet in the ADV DVD it seemed like it was only his sense of taste... Then there was that part at the end where he is fighting that guy (can't remember his name) and then he takes off the mask... Is he able to see at that point or not? Never understood that part...

When they experimented on Akito and Lapis, his senses were completely destroyed, while for Lapis, her ability to feel emotions were destroyed. Hence why the two need each other. Lapis acts as Akito's senses, while Akito acts as Lapis' emotions.

ok, this question might sound a bit outdated, but i just recently finished watching Nadesico and the Nadesico Movie: Prince of Darkness. and i am confused as to what exactly happened in the 3 years in between the series and the movie?

Of course that is subjective. I happen to like Vandread more.

Hehe Vandread defintely has more fanservice.

Characterwise - Akito has no growth compared to Hibiki. Akito is still the same Otaku from the beginning. Hibiki is striving to find out just who he is and why does he exist

Storywise Nadesico is a parody of Captain Tylor. Vandread is all about thinking for yourself...with boobs.

Humorwise - Both are extremely funny.

It's a shame really, this was one of Tatsuo Sato's better directing jobs (Ninja Scroll and Stelvia are meh compared to this) and Kia Asamiya most popular works but from all reports he hated the anime and wanted it to be more like the darker manga story.

You know I'm ok with PoD but really, WTF were they thinking releasing a game as a sequel to the series?

anyone find out what happens in the video game that takes place after the ending of the movie yet?

ok, i've been doing some research too. I found a person who played the game, but had to stop because he couldn't understand japanese too well. From what he saw, he said the game starts right after the movie and ruri and yurika are on the same ship and on a misson to find akito but there also in the war with 1 martain successor that they left behind. He was trying to pick up where the last martain successors left off at what they were doing so at the same time they are fighting them a woman who is related to inez appears in the game later on. They're also on Mars.

wow that's really sad, but maybe one day in the near future they'll make another movie..hopefully. I just wish we could find out what happens in the end of the video game, the mission....
