now that i thought about it, the fact that they showed this at sakuracon means they may release a dub of it out, which= a good chance that the LN may be licensed if many people like it!!!! NNNNOOOO~!!!. LN release take forever here T_T

Based on the manga chapter only, I think I would prefer Gakuen over Rakudai because of the MC. It was extremely awkward and cringeworthy to read the MC who known as "fail knight" through the whole school destroying those top students from left to right with mild difficulty

At least the MC from Gakusen has presented himself to be formidable, or at least competent enough, so I have no problem if he end up destroying his opponents casually in the future.

Depends on what you're after. In my opinion the romance is done better in Rakudai, and everything else I care about is done better in Gakusen. The fights, the powers, the characterization, and the overall story are all rendered better in Gakusen than Rakudai, and the world building is in an entirely different league.

Man, I so regret not having read this volume earlier. There were soooo many plot revelations Unlike the boring v6, this is my favorite volume yet (and a really long one). It's great to see the story finally take off; plus, you can't go wrong with a volume centered on the best girl (Sylvia~).

Spoiler for What Hilda wants:

She wants Ayato to win the Gryps, and to use his prize to free her from the restrictions the authorities have placed upon her. More generally, her goal is to fully understand from a scientific point of view what the StellaGens are, to the point of being able to create them artificially. Ophelia was an irreproducible stroke of luck.

Spoiler for Pan-dora's ability:

Pan-dora does indeed see into the future, but its ability to do so is limited. For every three days that it goes unused, it gains the ability to see into the future for 1 second.

Spoiler for What Claudia wants:

The creator of Pan-dora was a former renowned scientist who later became a terrorist who instigated some sort of major catastrophe (of an unknown nature). He's currently under major lock and key - it's against the law to even mention the event - and she wants to speak to him. About what, she refuses to clarify because it's dangerous.

Spoiler for Fan Xing Lu:

Fan Xing Lu is incredibly hax. For one, she's apparently a thousand year old loli baba! She reveals the "truth" about the Ember Tears to Ayato and Sylvia - what that is precisely, I'll leave for you guys to read for yourself

Yeah, that and the fact that its translation isn't actually done, pending Madan, is what caused me to finally read it. It made me feel like an idiot for spending so much time reading Chinese WNs recently; Japanese LNs/WNs are sadly just so much better

It's a shame, though... More people need to understand the greatness of Sylvia and that's impossible without this volume. If people want, and setsuna doesn't mind, I can try and throw together some short summaries.

it's depend actually, out of all CN novels i have read, i actually found 3 pieces that i could considered good. Other than that, yeah, Japanese LN is actually, much better, much better character, world building, and Jp novel have far better plotline as well/

Kirin was the former #1 at the academy before Ayato "took" her place (they are actually tied at 1 win apiece, but due to how the rules work – winner takes it all – Ayato took her spot since he won the last duel). She is extremely shy/polite ("like a small animal" is how she is described in the novels). She is gdlk though, not inferior to Ayato at all (she's got the skill and speed, but Ayato's got the experience. It says that she is better than him at pure swordmanship). She joins the party after an incident where Ayato stands up for her (needless to say that FLAGS WERE RAISED ), and later she becomes Saya’s partner in the tournament. What is impressive about her is that she acomplished everything without even using a dite, much less an ogre lux like Ayato.
