I wouldn't be so sure. K-On had an amazing track record with it's popularity and sales and there are a couple of sequels done so we might just get an extra season or so eventually. Who knows.

As for that I'm pretty sure you're right: I doubt we'll ever get them anywhere close to the awesome rock band they seem to be on the ED videos sadly.

Hmmm, I think I'm going to tinker with Rock Band and see how close I can get to our fab four plus one.

Turns out that track was indeed played in the movie! (Although it's only background music, so you either need to turn the volume up and/or use headphones.)
Spoiler for I wonder if someone can guess when in the movie it plays? Answer below:

What's the name of the song that plays about an hour and twenty-six minutes into the movie, when the classroom concert is about to start? It's the one about raindrops or whatever. I really like it, but I can't find it anywhere at all.

It's Samidare 20 love..

wow, the sound stage for the running around the hotel room part was really cool! Put some good pair of open backed headphones and hear it for yourself! Really any part in the movie with no BGM has awesome sound stage! The Live Concerts sound soo good and really the instrument separation/ placement based off just audio! Bravo on the sound department for the movie!

Just finished watching the movie. I really, really enjoyed it, and of course cried at the end thanks to hearing that song again. I enjoyed every single minute of it. I was happy to see these girls. The sub group did a very good job from start to end, especially the OP and ED sequences.

Spoiler for K-ON Opinion and Thoughts:

Spoiler for PS (for fans):

The film was just Ok but the visuals were stunning. Story was fine although there were too much YuiAzu, Yui and Azusa which is really not my type. So I was bored and annoyed in most of the scenes. So 7/10 if only for the scenery porn.

I lived in Aldgate East for 18 months, and been up and down Commercial Road countless number of times. Yet I never noticed Ibis London City because it was obscured by construction right beside it. They've clearly done their research and the scenery is stunningly accurate. They even caught on the lights flickering in the instantly recognizable London Underground C-stock. Oh, and an accurately drawn Southeastern Class 465 leaving Charing Cross. The production team were such perverts in the detailing. Yes, PERVERTS! They did succumb to the Japanese stereotype of London and spammed the streets with the traditional London busses which aren't seen very much anymore.

I really liked the movie. It had the usual comedy while we also got a look into Azu-nyan's insecure feelings. A mix of fun and depth throughout, without the depth looking too heavy. The use of real English voices and the authenticity of the gaffes and mistakes the girls make (dog waste bin FTW!) just adds to the quality. Will the otaku now descend into London? Mind you, most of the stuff is easily googlable.

One final comment - the girls sure are LOADED. I hope Mugi paid the cab fare to/from the airport. It cost me £8 to travel less than a mile to hospital. These black cabs really are for the rich and loaded who work in the financial district.

It would've made a nice ending song. Integrate that with the last scene and it'll be awesome as hell. Nothing beats leaving the cinemas with a feel good song for such a feel good movie.

The cost to overnight Mugi's keyboard from Kyoto, Japan(example) to London, UK is almost $1800, assuming Mugi uses UPS. As it turns out, she doesn't save a lot of money by going three days shipping, versus overnight, nor does she save much in declaring her keyboard for something less than it's actually worth.

Then again, to fly Japan Airlines overnight to London in the economy seats they were sitting in . . . $11,470.77 . . . per person.

Yeah . . . disposable income abounds here.

<EDIT>

Yeah, the otaku have already been there, done that.

Not quite that much ... in fact, roughly 10% of that, about $1300 return.

So unbelievably fluffy after seeing it . As a K-On fan, I think this gave me everything I could've wished for from a K-On movie.

Finally saw it! The worst part of the movie was when it ended. Everything was just great. The animation was just top notch. KyoAni sure sets the bar very high. It was great seeing Love Crisis again and we got to see Yui's Parents with their faces.
