I wish. I've thought about putting a book together on anime science but I haven't figured out how to approach it yet. The only one of the topics they mention in the article that I have worked on is gravity, specifically the gravity room and how it would probably kill you. I'll be presenting Gravity in Anime at Otakon so I'll put it on the blog some time after that.

Thanks, and I wish. I've kicked around the idea of making a book, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I do have something about the gravity room from DBZ coming up. I'm presenting a panel at Otakon on Gravity in Anime where I will cover the gravity room and its effects on the human body. I'll put it up on the blog sometime after that.

A little different this time as I look at the science behind a Japanese Doujin dugeon crawler game.

I feel like you miss a point: How are weighted clothes worn? From what I see, a lot of time they take the form of vests or belts (it would be strange for someone to drop their pants in the middle of a battle, right?), and I feel like in the case of increasing the jumping heights, they would not perform that well, if not getting in the way (if you do plyometric exercises and jump squats, the movements and postures themselves are just as important as the force you put into it.)

It's true there are a lot of specifics that might change individual situations, and yes taking your shorts off in the middle of a battle make no sense. i was just giving you an overview of the types of weighted clothing and how you might be able to wear the same amount as Goku in the scene in quesiton.

The exercises also mater especially when it comes to plyometrics. That being said my main point was that wearing the clothing all the time instead of just for workouts would be harmful to the body.

As a follow up to my training with weighted clothing post, today I am doing some speculation on what training in high gravity might do to you.

I didn't know about autonomic dysreflexia and will have to look into it.

Also, regarding the PT boat episode, I wish to ask if the shape of the boat affect its jumping angle. The bottom of a PT boat is relatively flat (compared to other types of vessel), but I don't know if in real life there is a point on the boat that act like a pivot point on the ramp (the tail end of the boat?)

And, the best advice I can give to a starting Youtube is to get a good mic. Your current one seems fine for this type of video, but it is not the best.

Thanks, I would imagine a lot given the friction that would develop at those speeds.

Yes the shape of the boat wil probably affect the jump angle. I'm not a marine engineer so I can't give you anymore of an answer than that. As to the second part you might be on to something, and an engineer can give you a better answer than I could. I was really just approaching as more of a physics thought experiment than anything else.

Thanks I'll look into getting a better mic in the future, as things pic up. It's a blue snowball, but the rooms acoustics are probably also a problem.
