Seriously can't wait until MZ 4, wonder if the Bird Man is really the Progenitor of the Valkyries. I know it's a fan-made theory, but i think it's pretty feasible that the birdman will awake and pull some cans of whoop ass.

Not yet. I heard it going to be out around May.

Just saw the raw, another excellent ep. I wince at the thought of another 5 months for the last ep.

Roy is just too cool and a scene reminiscent of Return of the Jedi. Were those fuel-air explosives at the end?

I wince at the though of another several years for another Macross series. Still, I'd rather wait for quality than get stuck like the fans of some other shows, where all of the sequels are crap, and there's a new one pumped out every year that only makes you hate the franchise even more.

The episodes come out in such a long period of time that I actually manage to forget about the anime (but I won't erase the fansubs), then suddenly get all excited again*

I just finished watching it raw. Absolutely stunning, definitely the most gorgeous episode so far.

Those of you who are only in it for the action, you may be dissapointed. There's a little action at the beginning, but this episode seems to be mainly plot and character driven. Lots of dialogue, explanations, and revelations seems to be the order of the day. As such, I'm eagerly anticipating a fansub to learn what I wasn't able to infer from context.

Well they are definitely FAEs. Ivanov's dropping them across the island. Most likely to clear the vegetation. To help them find Fokker & Aries? To find Shin & Sara? To find something on the isle? Or just to blast everything out of spite?

It was surprising for me to see Prof. Hasford appear in here as a debilitated old man on the other side.

Trivia: If you go to Macross Compendium, they list Shin's RIO as Edgar La Salle in the character list. Look at the entry above him. Claudia La Salle. Who wanna bet they are not siblings?

I thought those were valkyries (the good guys ones) dropping the bombs at the end to maybe keep the others from getting their hands on the bird-man. I've deleted the raw after watching it so would have to redownload it to check and gonna wait for the sub to do that. Definetly can't wait to see how the series ends though.

Wow...I just got done watching the first one (yeah, I'm a little late on the bandwagon). I figured it would be a solid show given that I like most of the other Macross titles and that they always seem to have very high production values.

But this was out of this world gorgeous. And if by episode 4 it looks even better than episode 1...well, I'm excited. The way the dogfights are portrayed and the way the fighters transform is just incredible. And I'm enjoying the plot a lot as well...episode 1 had the perfect amount of fighting/plot.

Definitely one of the most stunning anime titles I have ever seen...and I didn't even know it was out until this thread got resurrected.

Off to watch eps 2 and 3!

Since many of you are anxiously anticipating the forthcoming episode 4, here is a piece of information. I don't know if this helps or not, but there is a RAW version of episode 4 on a popular Chinese BT download forum. If any of you is fluent in Japanese and is interested in this RAW version, I can put the link here. The file is in rmvb format and is around 150MB. Well, there is also one with Chinese subtitle, but I doubt not many people here could read Chinese. ^^ I haven't downloaded it yet, because I want to wait for the AVI format which in my opinion has better quality (graphic flows more smoothly than most rmvb files).

I dont understand why they encode in rmvb. I've download a couple of chinese drama and they are all encoded in rmvb which is horrible. I think i'm pampered by anime fansubs because they encode in mpeg4 which is a much better compression technology. Fansubs groups will sub it sooner or later so i'll just wait for them.

I've found raws in AVI format... and a chinese fansub version too... but the subbing quality is a bit... rushed...
