Man, Takagi was on fire this episode. Made Nishikata help her choosing a swimsuit, got him to agree on a date at the out-door pool and was with him studying in his own room, just the two of them, all alone at home with no parents what-so-ever. If they were older this could have been such a juicy situation, especially with Takagi teasing him about sharing a chair or studying on the bed. xD

Poor? What are you talking about? Bro has the youth of his life! There are countless boys out there who want a cute girl to pay attention to them every day and to invite them to a swim date after having chosen a swimsuit for her! Nishikata just hasn't realized he wants that yet. It will come with puberty.

I kind of liked how she was so quick to cover herself with the curtain when she saw another guy was there. Apparently her bold behavior is for Nishikata only. |

It's nice to see how Takagi's teasing is taking different shapes and colours as the episodes go. While always flirty, it was more mischievous at the beginning but it's becoming more romantic lately. Sometimes she seems more into seducing than teasing, actually. She knows Nishikata most likely won't get it anyway, so she's safe.
Besides though, Takagi still does some pure trolling, like pretending to be undressed under the curtain or saying in a loud voice "let me read 100% Kataomoi" everytime she gets a chance. As already stated above, her becoming modest while wearing a swimsuit in front of a different male specimen, was a really nice touch. She probably barely speaks to other boys in her class/school, being all focused on Nishikata. Speaking of which: it'd be nice to have some small background to know how and when the two met each other and became so close.

love the bit where she's fine with showing off a suitsuit in front of him, but someone else, quick to cover. Just shows how comfortable/interested she's in her teasing target.
Also love how all other observers see them as a pair.

I suppose that's possible. Personally I feel like her reaction was a little too quick and reflexive to be a case of "oh, friend's boyfriend, shouldn't show my skin", but can't really rule out the possibility. I still prefer the idea, and think it fits pretty well, that she's bold around Nishikata and willing to offer up some service because he's her crush. Maybe she's showing off to him because he's him, or maybe she's just not showing off to that guy because he's her friend's man. Can't do much but speculate there.

New episode certainly didn't disappoint at all. Looks like Takagi's stepping up her game. Now she's trying to get him to touch her. I'm disappointed we didn't get the swim portion, would've enjoyed seeing him freak out as she teased him at the pool/beach.
And yeah, Nishikata, nothing to be embarrassed about. Frankly, it'd be strange if you didn't notice your crush's butt right in front of you. Still very good of him to avert his eyes once he realized that's where they'd gone. But her demands to be poked in the ribs or offers to let him win a race if he can touch her for a second were pretty cute. I wonder how long it'll be before she starts demanding legitimate dates, like going to family restaurants and tea places or seeing movies. She seems pretty skilled at tricking him into getting just a little closer. His brief chuuni moment was awesome. But who hasn't had at least one moment like that. Still I'd like it if he figured her out a little better. She realizes instantly that he's always going to overthink things, but he keeps thinking he can catch her by making HER overthink. She sees how he's different from her, but he keeps acting like she should behave the same as him. Small wonder she's able to do whatever she wants. Funny that it took me so long to realize that she's Megumin. Really funny seeing her make fun of chuuni. Last edited by BWTraveller; 2018-02-28 at 17:56. |

Saw episode 9 today.
Takagi's reflexes is insane. In that moment, she posed a cute image of herself rather than laughing. Nishikata should probably never try to compete with her when it comes to cell phones again.

Man, they even did the "you hang up first" talk. And she made him take a picture of her and made him keep it in the end. Those two are going out in all but name. Well, more like she is ensnaring him and he got no way of escape nor does he really want to escape.^^

Takagi's reflexes remembered me some episodes back when he put a frog right under her nose and she didn't move.
Normally you'd kinda move your head away if they suddenly put a frog close to your face (if anything because its spray can be dangerous if it gets into the eyes), yet she froze. She's definitely superhuman, but that's part of the gag and it works. I just wish that before the end of the series, she'll get to show a weakness, an uncertainty. Maybe even willingly "lose" one challenge to see his reaction for a change. Nishikata on the other hand, doesn't seem to upgrade. Great scheming, terrible execution. Hopefully he'll be able to mistakenly execute a prank right.

That'll take some doing. She's tried on a few occasions to make it really easy for him to win, given him handicaps, etc. But even if she tries to give it to him on a silver platter, deliberately screwing up her side of things or making his side easier, he still second-guesses and destroys his own chances. Part of the problem is actually that he overestimates her devious nature, always assuming that she's constantly scheming and would never do anything remotely normal or obvious, despite the fact that a lot of the time she has done the obvious and normal.
