Err, just so you know, the use of manure has never been restricted to organic food: on the contrary it is an important component of modern integrated farming.

For those (more and more abundant) byproducts of animal rearing have always been and are still valued fertilizers, used according to time tested protocols. In some places, even sewage plants by products are used (read: human waste), albeit not anymore where I live due to heavy metals concerns.

Really, to bet at risk when eating a vegetable E.coli contaminated with manure, it would have to come from a field manured with fresh human dung, and you'd have to not wash nor peel it before you'd eat it.
For whole vegetables and fruits are quite impervious to those contaminations, their skin being a pretty effective barrier (hence why peeling is culturally entrenched in some places).

On the other hand, you are much more at risk with any packaged food, as prepared foods no longer are self sealed, and each human hand (or tool) touching it is in the same time a potential source of contamination. That's precisely why, when there's an E.coli outbreak, whole batches are contaminated due to a fault in the industrial process.

Yes. I eat meat. But I did at one time set my own goal to be a vegetarian for a week. That isn't a problem for me anyway considering that I don't eat that much meat in general. I like meat for it's taste, but I only like it if it's heavily drowned in sauce or some other tasty dip. I would have gone longer then a week, but I couldn't tern down my favorite food when someone offered it to me.

Of course I eat meat. I love to eat meat.
But I also don't mind all veggie dishes - there are very few things I don't like to eat. I eat pretty balanced, too. Always a little fruit or vegetable plate as a snack in the afternoon for example.

I respect vegetarianss or vegans, as long they let me chew on my bacon in piece

Fish and white meat is fine, too. Yum!

I love eating too much to limit myself in some way. And I don't see why either. Eating beef is natural

However, I don't eat things I have sentimental feelings for: No pets, no bunnies, no horses and - god forbid - zebras!

But Zebra, you look too good not to eat.

Would you eat canned crocodile or snake? Those are made of meat. Oh, and what about foxes and bears? Hmmmmm?

Fine. I'll stop being difficult. But yeah, I think vegetarians are the more vocal about who eats what, ironically. Peculiar, but that is either sympathizers or extremists for you.

I wouldn't say I'm a vegetarian. I eat meat, like bacon and pepperoni... and that's about it.

Dunno about the crocodile. I'd feel bad about eating too exotic things - and they're pretty cool. The only reason I don't say "Never!" is that my motto is to try everything at least once if I get the chance to. And never say never anyway. But I don't wanna eat endagered animals.
I love alive animals, too after all.

I know I wouldn't, raw is bad enough but canned would be overkill :P

I eat meat. And loads of vegetables. I prefer chicken and fish over... well the rest.

I am totally fine with vegeterian dishes though and often I have one meatless meal per day. Helps to clean the colon

This is pretty much what I do, except I have more fruits these days than veggies.

I eat meat, but usually only local farmer's buffalo and steak. I so very much dislike the corporate store meat, it just tastes gross usually.
