Graineliers

A curious series I stumbled across a few weeks ago that has caught my eye and held my interest since then.

Semi-official synopsis: In the story, there are certain individuals known as "graineliers" who produce "seeds" that conceal various powers. A boy named Lucas lives at his disposal with the powers from these "seeds."

****

This series has a teensy bit of a feel like the Spice and Wolf series in terms of a semi-medievalish world like that of Europe in the past, but in this world the main chara becomes a little less... how shall we say... normal, I guess. There is a big focus on forestry/botany/herb lore and the like, with hints of the numinous and the "other" thrown in - and possibly the magical as well.

Anyway, it is a very ambitious project in my opinion! I hope the level of quality can be kept up - and by the by, I think the art is really well done.

Anyone else following this one?

New chapter is available....

This series really does march to a different drumbeat. I kinda like it. The young girl on the cover img above showed up last ch (we are now up to ch 4) and things are getting stranger, but in an "ordinary" way that is... well... strange. It's hard to describe. The feel in some ways reminds me of an eerily sung lullaby in a minor key....

New chapter is out, and it seems one of the newly introduced characters has a lot more to them than first met the eye. In a certain way it was eerie to read....

Does this have any shoujo-ish hints?

Hmm. At the moment I would say no - it is pretty serious when it comes to it, tho not heavy for me. No love interests or such that I remember.

Of course, only up to ch 5 at the moment.

Ch 9

Sure enough, it is an attempt to sniff out the MC. Looks like the "special ops" folks know about what has happened to him and have had bad run ins with people similar to him before to the degree that they even have "standard ways" of dealing with people who have become somehow part plant, yet still retain their humanity in some way....
