Hmmm Touka berserk mode... Love it.

Anyway that remind me that every character have different stlye of playing mahjong.

Momoko, Saki and Koromo = Hax
Touka = Emotional
Yumi = Strategist/Tactictian
Hisa = Betting
Nodoka = Stat & Probability Master

Oh well that my IMO lol...

I thought Mihoko was more like "Empathy". Anyone can read the discard piles but few people can read poker faces.

And Nodoka isn't just good with probabilities, she always takes the same amount of time to play her turn (first turn 5 seconds, all subsequent turns instantly) and still always manages to make the best choice. That already makes her a freak, totally different from normal "ratio players". It's like a soulless super computer, a very problematic opponent to have.

Also Yuuki and Nanpo (was that her name?) would also go in the "hax" category, getting a series of fast wins on the east and west rounds. That's not a strategy, that's just ESP. XD

South round for Nanpo. But yeah, I guess they have a hax middle level control during their respective rounds, though their control is not as strong as Koromo's no-one-gets-tenpai-unless-I-say-so.

Momo was mentioning in last page that she and senp... no, everyone (haha, got you there momo) should go to more places together, the next season, and the season after that. then she stops thinking that Yumi is about to graduate. Yumi mentions that she does have the time to stay with the team after graduation, but the problem would be Kanbara. She did tell Yumi that after graduation she would have to help in her house. Cues Kanbara in, who was out doing some jogging. In that panel Satomi tells Momo that she shouldn't worry, (next panel) instead they should face forward, face forward with all they have.

This week in Saki:

A special chapter: This time it's Tsuruga's time to get the spotlight, and not only that, but having Satomi as the protagonist for the chapter as well as many people here predicted. It's mainly a reminiscing chapter though, with Kanbara telling momo about the time she first met Yumi among other things (you are quite obsessive about that, huh Momo?), Yumi and Mutsuki coming later and the group having a small outing.

LOL moment of the chapter:

Kanbara: I've learned to identify Momo's prescence by her scent! Only when the wind's blowing though
Momo: Do I stink that much?

Somehow I get the feeling that the manga is starting to lose direction. Maybe it's just because we are forced to follow it biweekly and recent developments have been a tad slow though.

If you guys haven't noticed, we, anime-rg, have started scanlating it starting from chapter 56. We need someone capable of mahjong and have some ability in Japanese to assist in translation. Our current translators don't know much about mahjong (and almost dead when translating chapter 56 - hence it's current "pre-release" status).

Also an editor since the main translator's (and my) English sucks.

Editor sounds nice. If it's something like "rough draft gets e-mailed to me, I make the words work a bit better", I can handle that. As for the mahjong knowledge, I know of someone who speaks the language. I'll try to get him interested.

It's already a miracle for me that Nodoka won the individual national tournament, when she was still so far from her Nodocchi skill. Her team didn't even pass the prefecturals :/
Maybe Yuuki's first encounter with Tacos was after that tournament?

I don't know what she's saying, but I do know Satomi is long overdue for character development. It might be inferiority complex or something but I can tell something very important is going to happen to Satomi.

Spoiler for chapter 60: Begins with Touka waking up from what she thinks is a dream. However Tomoki and Hajime quickly reassures her that at least her 4 wins against the dream team weren't a dream at all. Everyone is surprised at her results, and Touka is not the least of them, who ever goes as far as refusing those records, since that's not her!! (Hajime is touched), and that way she departs from Nodoka's style too much (Hajime is disappointed. Poor you, Hajime!). At the same time we see Maho and her friend from Nodoka's junior high enter the building in a very "we are cool" fashion. Touka and co. recognizes them as Nodoka's classmates. Meanwhile at Kiyosumi's room Saki is completely amazed by Touka's prowess, and shivers Saki shivers in excitement since Koromo told her that there's someone like the Touka she just played in the nationals. Meanwhile Maho and Muroha arrive and Nodoka's present them (Anime discontinuity time: I guess the manga won't just acknowledge everything). Hisa says that she invited them (the more people the better) and proposes a game with the two of them, Saki and Nodoka. Here I will have to wait for me to arrive to my house and get my dictionary since I don't quite get the Kanji's in the last page, but the manga sure seems to be pumping Maho as not the amateur the anime was making her to be. Unfortunately she won't be able to join Saki's team next year since she's in second year right now, So we'll have to wait for Saki's third year. I had already toyed around with the idea of a character with such a power but... Spoiler: It seems she is a copycat, or someone who can tap on the power or abilities from people who are around her. Given that she uses Yuuki(quick and strong win) , Nodoka (net Mahjong super calculation powers), Hisa(hell wait to win off Saki) and Saki powers (I got your rinshan kaiho!) in turn to totally dominate the table. Not to mention that Hisa had already set her eye on her from long ago. At this rate I guess that she could become a good training partner for Saki and co., or so I think given that she cannot participate in any other way in the story for a good 2 years. It kind of makes us wonder how could they lose the junior high tournament, hehe. First thought was that she adapted Nodoka and Yuuki's styles by imitating then, so it was very surprising that she pulled of a Hisa and Saki one too. But Maho might be weak when there is no one she could 'steal' her ability from. That would make her useless at the Mid-school tournament - assuming she was seeded vs. average opponents.
