Wouldn't this show work without the panty power premise? It hasn't featured a whole lot recently.

Also, I don't feel like the show calls for Yuuta to have a dynamic story of his own with so much else going on - I'd prefer it revealed that he was connected to the story in some significant way, but no personal coming-of-age bullshit. Kaito from R;N was a pain in the ass imo.

Most likely Guriko/Mikatan is actually possessing Chiyoko's body. It would explain the pink hair. Those pills she takes regularly may be what keeps her from being kicked out of Chiyoko's body.

As for Chiyoko herself, she may be Chiranosuke the cat spirit. It would make much more sense for Chiranosuke to help Yuuta if he was someone familiar rather than someone completely unrelated. Nothing ever said spirits couldn't change their form either.

Anyway this episode clarified it a bit for me, I think what is going on with the panties is Yuba-fying, and that's clearly triggered by strong emotions of sorts. So of course sexual arousement works. Maybe each Yuba-user has a different trigger - rage, fear, excitation etc.

Also, is Strange Juice such a user too? Would make sense since she comes from the same lab. If that's the case, what's HER trigger? However when she's in Magical Super Sentai Girl mode her hair is still pink and normal as always, so I suppose she's never activated it until now...

I really like where this anime is going so far. Trigger keeps the tradition of having first few mediocre episodes leading to a great anime.

This is Mappa, not Trigger. The same as "Terror in Resonance" and "Rage of Bahamut" (which was awesome).

I've just done a catch-up on this series, as I hadn't checked it out previously. It was very interesting to see people mentioning a spin-off game earlier in the thread, as the one thing this show reminded me of most was Day of the Tentacle. It has very similar elements: a mad scientist's house full of wacky inhabitants, time-travel and indirect problem-solving.

Let's not even forget the fact that do they even feel sad when Yuuta actually died from nosebleeds with Mika being the only one witnessing the scene at the beginning of the first episode?

Setting that aside, I believe this series did a good job working as an embodiment of ecchi deconstruction beginning with lot of pantyshots but eventually toned down as it goes on. Besides, is anyone else ready for the fact that episode 6 will be the series' major turning point being able to resolve everything in a consistent way?

I'm sure Meika knows. She might have told them to ignore him for the sake of his future plan, or just told him that he's moved out.

Yup, a major turning point this week. Time to save the humanity but more importantly, we also learn that Yuta was possessed by his future self

I'm actually quite interested to see what direction this show will go into now.

Well, that was kind of disappointing... maybe I shouldn't have visited one of the Punchline threads where they've already had some theories before watching this episode. I hope that there are more things to come that will actually surprise me.

Totally wasn't expecting a few things in this episode. Leaving aside the surprising gender reveal which came out of nowhere (Pronoun Minefield!), remember how at the start the cat told Yuta they couldn't get back into their body because someone else was possessing it? Well turned out it was previous timeline Yuta all along, and not the bad guy i'd been expecting.

Definitely need to see where this show goes from here. When they said it all changed after episode six, they weren't kidding!
