Hanoka

An anime made entirely with Flash... Check it out.

(Why isn't there a thread yet!)

Neato! Those two episodes were fun. Nifty South Park-esque character designs and fluid bobbing heads. They did a fair job for a Flash production. It's not like you can bag on them too hard for the animation quality. Not the greatest show, but it's easy on the modem.

My only quibble is ... I would have like a shorter opening sequence considering the total length of the show. Say maybe a :30 open instead of the 1:30 gig that have now. Thanks to Ryoumi for doing the subbing.

The girl reminds me of Kira Yamato from Gundam SEED. Nice, so far so good.

Just so you know, this shows pushes the capabilities of Flash 9 and ActionScript to the ABSOLUTE LIMITS.

Why do you think that they chose to do it in Flash? Did their project have funding problems for a more traditional animation method?

This is good! I saw the first two episodes already but it is too short.

Already, I feel sympathy towards Hanoka during the second episode.

Flash support any kind of animation (with the exception of a decent 3d). But usually when talk about flash animation, we are talking about vector animation, a cheap way to animate, so yes, it's a cheap anime.

I was also wondering why they would put an 1:30 opening on an almost 5 minute long anime.. leaving just 3:30 for the actual show.

Morino (likely most known for the awesome flash video Yukino, which even has a figure made and for sale at HLJ) does all his stuff in flash. Considering he was doing with Flash 4 what people nowadays are calling massive accomplishments really says something.

I figure like most anyone who uses Flash for anything, it's for the sake of challenge and style points. Nobody would use flash to make a serious animation look serious. Only to make an ameture animation look excellent.

Google RZ-Consent or Yukino or whatever. I'm pretty sure this is the same guy.

heh. Whaddaya know. It is him. I've been a fan of his characters for quite some time now and I can say the speed he's improving at is unbelievable.

Can someone tell me if there's any romance in this? Ryoumi just finished the show and I wanted some opinions before checking it out.

No romance. Heck, at only 6 minutes per episode we're lucky there is time for story or action. This thing is so short you don't really need to get reviews before checking it out.
