And, what do you think about the manga? Is it(a lot) better then the animation and are there some interesting developments in the manga?

Thanks again.
Oh, it's way, way, way better than the anime.

Most people stick with the manga.
In fact, I'm surprised there are actually non-manga fans.
The manga is superior in terms of everything: graphics, plot, storyline.

The 1st series, Mahou Sensei Negima!, tries to follow the plot.
The only problem is the quality, and possibly a few key points to the manga that it dropped.

The 2nd series, Negima!?, is completely different.

the anime goes to ... what ... vol 6 if we're overly friendly (end of kyoto arc which is a few episodes in anime covers volumes 4-6 if i remember correctly) ... and then it spins way off ... the large majority i have seen pretty much only likes ep 19 which covers Sayo better than the Manga did in it's early chapter about it

the OVA's out is actually decent ... specially those about Ala Alba which covers parts in vol 18-19 ... kinda large jump but those OVA is basicly one long fanservice to the manga fans

Yay for flashbacks! It's about time we got some light shed on the background of Nagi's little gang since we've only really ever had little subtle mentions here and there about stuff...

On a side note: That little bathhouse scene makes my head hurt, since it reminds me too much of a Love Hina throwback...

Maybe some light will be shed on Negi's mother and the Asuna matter as well.

if that woman is Negi's mother, then he defintely inherited his father's trait of attracting older women.

And if Asuna is Negi's mother does that mean Nagi's got a thing for...better not even finish that.

You think that his mojo won't work on younger ones? (Well, right now, it doesn't, but that's because he's ten.)

Come to think of it, Chachamaru's even younger, and it works on her.

Could be Asuna's mother, perhaps requesting that they save her daughter?

wouldnt it be ironic if that were asuna's mother and she got with nagi. that would make negi and asuna half-siblings.

... I would say I rather enjoyed volume 19 (Del Rey release) of Negima (which came with some pactio cards) - but ya'll are so far ahead with the scanlations or originals there's not much point. Liked many of the small summer moments with the gang.

This is the one with the festival contest that makes up a fair amount of the last OVA (and the first anime adaptation in a long while I've liked).

by the way ... something i've thought about ...

Paru (i think it was) mentioned that they'd been in Magic World for 2 months ... i wonder how long time have gone at those not in the MW ... either there is a big time displacement just like Eva's castle/training grounds or ... yeah, it would be interested in seeing how they'd act on this ~15 people being missing for that long
