Well, there are quite a few things hinting at it, though. Mostly the fact that Freeza was constantly referred to as THE SINGLE STRONGEST BEING IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE, and even Kaio-sama himself (who was basically the God of gods in the DB-universe) seemed to consider him as such.

Of course, there are even more things indicating that Toriyama wanted Cell to be the ending, and that the decision to continue past that point was made at the last minute. (Really, look at volume 35 of the manga and tell me that doesn't look like an ending to you.)

Wow, I didn't think they could come up with an even more fruity outro but there you go. It does make me wonder wether or not they even take this seriously..

Still they've done an awesome job at making dbz watchable so far.

Gohan is looking mighty damn epic in the OP, which is very fitting for wants to come. Also they show a scene from Piccolo vs 17 which is filler, so i guess we'll be getting that fight? I sure hope so, because it was a personal favorite of mine.

Really liking the new pieces of music in this episode, and hope to hear plenty more as the arc progresses. Also quite like the new ED, and it looks like i could be the only one here that does.

Well the fans seem to make up a lot of things about Toriyama. Like how he intended for Gohan to become the main hero in the Buu saga but the fans demanded that he give Goku that spot back.

Yeah, I hate when people make up stuff like that when it was obviously the editors acting on behalf of what they thought would sell more to the fans.

Do you mean the entire fight is filler? If so, that's not the case - Piccolo vs 17 was in the manga, it just had a lot of padding added to it in the anime.

How can anyone not know Vegeta's pink shirt is for BAD MAN only by now!?

Anyways, episode 55 is definitely one of the most badass episode endings in Kai so far. The BGM they chose kinda irked me (reeked too much of "heroic entrance" when Trunks should be a more ambiguous character at this point) but the way he just disregards Freeza's question and goes "I have come to kill you." is pure badassery.
