Heh, you're doomed Vexx. Next thing you know, they'll be asking where you live.

I know of at least one other member in his 40s: BBOvenGuy, a published author if I recall correctly. I've been "banned" from calling myself old. So, yeah, I'm just 37 years young. (Now, if only little kids would stop calling me "Uncle"...)

Vote with your feet then. Kick the shota.

Seriously, uncle, you should only feel old when you have a 20+ calling you DAD. That namesake is not that bad......I had a 40+ prospect that called me "xiao di" (Chinese for little boy) and ask me if the government reduced the age limit to license financial advisors.

OTOH, these small convo made me wonder, why do older people like you guys prefer anime to TV shows? Is it because of :

1. Lolis
2. Kemonomimi
3. Pettanko
4. Torpedo tits

Or is it simply that the broadcasters in your region air garbage over the waves?

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

Going to join the 30s club myself soon. Not that my physical age seem to matter. The people who know me in person describe me as a "grouchy grampa", and I still get asked for my ID at cinemas ("Dude... I'm like almost twice your age...")

Random Auntie: "So what school are you in now?"
Me: "..."

I suppose I'll consider it a blessing when I turn 60 and people still think I'm 30 or something, but man can it get annoying at times.

Cheers.

What would happen if you were to inject plant cells into your body?

Nope, you're not going to be like anything like the "Hulk".

Seriously, you might die. Either by infection or allergic reaction. Anything foreign is will be instinctively rejected by your body.

By the way, I'm not a MD but an RN so better consult it to a MD.

I'd have to ask why you'd inject plant cells into your body in the first place.

You'd need to photosynthesise ALOT to fuel yourself dummy, plants don't need as much sugar as human beings because they don't move anywhere else other than towards the sun. Have you ever seen a plant run from you when you want to kill it for food?

The short sarcastic answer is "YES" .... all of the above.

The longer answer is that:
1) I've long studied asian culture, this is just more of it.
2) I like trying to follow the dialog in Japanese
3) I've mostly given up on American television - at this point I watch less than 2 or 3 hours of entertainment tv a week. I spend more time watching documentaries and public broadcast news (BBC, News Hour, Euro Journal, NHK, etc).
4) I *like* the social principles and morals presented in much of anime, the sense of civility, etc. "Doing the right thing"... stuff that "reality tv competitions" is the exact opposite of. Much of American tv promulgates screwing everyone "me me mine", Bread-and-Circuses, etc.
5) And yes, the cute pretty girls and the guys they befuddle rarely fail to amuse.

Spoiler for Photo of Vexx:
That's me in a recent photo, yes. Loli-wife pics are available in my public album (though she's pretty hard to get a good pic of without stalking her).
