Well, what I know: The world is divided into several timezones; and one standard of reference linking all these timezones together is the GMT; or Greenwich Mean Time.
Different zones are separated by a matter of hours; and this is reflected by the +0X:00hrs in front of GMT (eg GMT+08:00hrs). So something happening (Say, the airing of Ouverture; or you pwning a Japanese in WoW) at GMTime+09:00hrs in Tokyo would be happening at GMTime+08:00hrs in Singapore and KL. So, do the maths: RM:O airs at 3.30 in a GMT+9 timezone. 3.30 = GMTime+9 GMTime = 3.30 - 9 hrs. GMTime+8 = 3.30 - 9hrs + 8 hrs = 2.30 GMTime-4 = 3.30 - 9hrs - 4hrs = 14.30; one day earlier. (Is that correct?) I'm actually really oversimplifying it, because I wouldnt understand more if I went deeper. Some interesting reading here. We should actually be in GMT+7 zone. |
