Still, after or during the time when Tsukune regains control of his body, I think that Tsukune has to ask himself what he wants to use his powers for - basically I think that he should start accepting the possibility that he might not be a human anymore, which of course is pretty obvious to the readers, but so far I haven't seen Tsukune asking himself that question...

After all, I don't think that Tsukune is going to make much progress in using and controling his vampire abilities if he doesn't find his own reason why he wants to develop his vampire abilities and become stronger then he currently is, and it might be possible that the current training arc is basically leading foreword Tsukune finding his own reasons, why he wants to continue fighting, even at the cost of his own humanity...

Regarding Kurumu, well even if she only is going to get hurt by him, I think that Tsukune is still going to blame himself for doing something like that to her, of course if he's going to be aware that he hurt her like that, but well it might lead Tsukune to finally go through some real chacracther development and start being more like a protagonist of a shounen manga, rather then what he demonstrated in the previous arc...

That's pretty much what I was getting at earlier. His resolve doesn't seem strong as he hasn't considered his own future and whether or not he really wants this, only that he has to if he wants to save Moka. That's the impression he gave me when he made his speech to Kurumu. All for Moka, no concern for himself and what he wants to do.

If anything, Tsukune will probably understand what's happening to him after the deed is done and Moka is rescued. He may be confused as to why he's no longer human, what he'll do from here on out and find an answer to his new purpose. I believe it will be as simple as "I did this for Moka because I want to be with her"

Granted, he will still question himself if Kurumu gets hurt because of him, but the impact will be much less than her death. It may even strengthen his resolve to become stronger and gain more control over his powers, particularly if he really wants to become a demon and save Moka.

I think that might be the way that Ikeda is going to resolve this matter...

Of course it still remains a mystery on how Moka is going to react if she hears about Tsukune's transformation, that caused Tsukune to ... physically stop being a human...

After all, she might be felling guilty about it, since the cause of Tsukune's transformation is her vampire blood after all... even if Tsukune isin't going to blame her for what has happened to him.

Well, I agree that Tsukune is going to become more resolved to take control over his powers, especially if one of his friends, get hurt during the time that Tsukune's vampire powers went out of control...

On a different matter, after Tsukune regains control over his powers, I don't think he will be able to transform his body to such an extent, as he did in chapter 40 - of course if Tsukune retains his transformation ability in the first place...

If Tsukune is going to be able to do something like that, I believe that Tsukune is only going to be capable of partially transforming his body in a similar way as Kahula does...

After all, for now I think that the only reason why Tsukune's body transformed like this, is to signify to the reader that Tsukune might not be a human anymore, and that his powers went out of control, but I don't think that when Tsukune regains control over his powers , he is still going to keep looking like this:

I agree that this not only signifies that he isn't human anymore, but his body, it's physical structure and appearance have changed on a massive scale, i can't really tell of what human of him remains, other than his mind.

Although, it's clear that it's a really insane looking vamp/Shinso body.

Now this appearance i believe is also to be the result of not only his Shinso blood going haywire, but the warlike and bloodthirstyness of the blood's nature, resulting in this current form of Tsukune.

But if i had to say anything about Tsukune's current form, i think it's the outer shell form of Tsukune and underneath is the new form of Tsukune once he regains control, either that or his new controlled form is a completely different transformation.

It looks like he has the same ability Kahlua does, partial transformation of the body, since this current form shows that he is capable of it.

These are my thoughts on this.

Hey look! He has silver hair! Guess all that color drained into his body making it black. I wonder if Moka would look similar if she ever went berserk like this, more specifically like when she fought Akua after Akasha was cut in half...

But, I don't know, if Moka were to see Tsukune in this form, I think she'd probably be torn between feeling disgusted and aroused at this form of Tsukune, but I don't think this is how he would look when he does meet with her again.

Though, he my end up sporting some new appendages and an armor like look on his arms and legs, he'd probably try and retain his more or less human look. He might even be lucky enough to be able to fly under his own power too. After all, if Kurumu can do it with such puny wings and her higher than human strength, certainly Tsukune can with his puny wings and near vampire strength. Plus I think he can further morph his body to adjust for such tasks.

One thing's for sure, if he can fly, and Kurumu can fly, and Ruby can fly, they all can go after the blimp and probably catch up fairly quickly, or be able to "drop in" unannounced from the air at FT with little to no trouble at all, if FT doesn't know they're coming. I'm sure that between all them, carrying all the non-flying people would be an easy task. But I doubt they would be entering that way....

Well, in my opinion Tsukune's current form is only temporary, because:

1.) Well, it's not like he can show himself to the public looking like that.

2.) It's not like Tsukune himself would want to look like some kind of inhuman monster. so even if he remained in this frorm, after he regained control over his powers, I'm quite certain that Tsukune would still look for a way to regain his more human like appearance...

3.) Finally, since the transformation ability is considered as an heresy among vampires, I doubt that any reasonable vampire family would agree to wed their daughter to someone looking like that, so if Tsukune wants to get together with Moka, he needs to regain his more human like appearance.

I wonder if Tsukune in his current form, possesses the ability to absorb other organisms like Alucard has?, that would be interesting, but even if he did Tsukune wouldn't be interested in absorbing people.

Being able to grow giant bat wings and fly would be pretty cool for Tsukune, i guess that would be his partial-transformation ability, unlike Kahlua's.

But all i can say is that Fairy Tale HQ is going to be like "OH SH--!!!", when they encounter Tsukune.

Keep in mind that all vampires are technically capable of transformation... but as stated, 9/10 choose not to (the 10th being Karua ). My guess is that for transformation, it just simply requires an extra concentration of youkai/yoki (whichever is the energy). Because of the ritual Fuhai was doing, it looks like Tsukune's got so much energy flowing through him that he doesn't need to dedicate any extra to transforming... i see the following scenario taking place:

With Tsukune in Berserk mode, the girls do their best to subdue him, getting close, but not quite making it (and if I want to be really nasty, I'll even say that at least one or more of them is seriously injured trying to subdue tsukune). However, this allows enough time for Fuhai to recover, and he's able to put the 109th needle in Tsukune, thereby subduing the energy within tsukune, retuning him to a more human-looking state... and he probably repairs the Holy Lock in the process

After that... well, it could possibly go angst route if any of the girls were injured while going against tsukune, but I'd prefer if they headed out to rescue Moka

The chapter starts with Kurumu still running away and crying Tsukune's name. She remembers how Tsukune asked that Touhou Fuhai should give him the power to protect Moka. Shedding tears Kurumu whispers that he shouldn't do it.

There are more flashbacks where Fuhai explains that he will change Tsukune's body so that he can use Youkai techniques but that this way also is too dangerous and has a low sucess rate. As a result Tskune will die in case of failure. Hence the name "Death's body restructuring technique". Kurumu goes on that it's no good and cries about that even if he does this for Moka many times, it's still ... She stumbles and whispers he should stop but realizes that her voice won't reach him anymore. And that somebody should stop Tsukune. In the meantime Gin appears at her location whereas Touhou is about to start his ritual.

Touhou states that he put a barrier around the area and tat from now on until the technique formular is over he has to stay here and that he can't even do a single step plus that no one from the outside can lend him a hand. Then he changes into his true from. He says that he asks one more time that if he wants to stop this is his last chance. Tsukune responds that if nobody does it, they can't save Moka without defeating Akua's Jigentou.

Determined, Tsukune asks Touhou to begin and make him stronger. Touhou gets ready and says "Alright, if you have still this resolution, I don't see a reason to stop. Show me how far your willpower can lead you!" and pins the first needle in his left shoulder area. As a result a part gets ripped apart. Touhou remarks that he has a good inital reaction as he didn't raise his voice one time. He explains that the tip of his needle is infused with his Youki and went already in his body. Launching this needle should feel like an bug sting.

The reconstruction sews together his cells while the energy that becomes the origin of the Youkai techniques among other things. This amplified "channel" will be formed inside his body. This is the Body Remodeling Technique in simple terms. A single needle is like thousand ones that penetrates the body. He continues that this pain is caused by the body getting torn up and when the amount of needles increase, the pain doubles. In the end the number of inserted needles are 109. The number of strings that goes in the body can easily exceed 1.000.000! Fuahi says that until all needles are lauched he should do his best to live.
After that Kurumu screams his name. Then she notices, she's in Gin arms. He tolds her to hold on. Fast forward to another breakdown of Kurumu. She cries that it's just painful and that she would die if Tsukune and Moka get together. Gin shows his soft side and says she should try to forget Tsukune.

We see Tsukune break down and Kurumu senses it and says she got a bad premonition and rushes in his direction. She also says that something happened to his body. Gin tries to stop her but no chance.
Tsukume collapsed when Fuhai inserted the 108th needle. He says that he would like to say that the next one is the last. He states that the 109th needle will go through the heart and will be the most dangerous one. He says that Tsukune doesn't have any willpower left and that he won't endure it and that this is unfortunate after he came this far. He also says he will interrupt the technique formular and that Tsukune did well. When he's about to leave Touhou thinks that used too much Youki and that for a moment it appears that his Youkai technique wouldn't work. Suddenly the holy lock breaks and Touhou thinks 'Wait ...'.

With a large shizplotion Tsukune stands up which shocks Touhou who asks hif he still has power left and that it should be impossible. In a trance-like state Tsukune mutters Moka's name and Touhou notices the holy lock. He wonders if the thing that is held by the lock will come out when driven to the utmost limit. He thinks that this however is impossible and what the heck Tsukune is.

At the end of the chapter, Kurumu arrives and is shocked to see Tsukune in a demon-esque state. The chapter ends with the sidetext "a jet back atypical appearance ...!!!"

Well, from the looks of it Mikogami hadn't told a few things about Tsukune to Tohou Fuhai after all, which caused Tsukune to transform into his new form...

Also, like someone has been saying earlier, it might be true that to return Tsukune back to normal Tohou Fuhai would need to plunge the 109th Needle into Tsukune, but since he has already been knocked out, by the berserk Tsukune, it probably won't be as easy as it sounds...

Not to mention that, we have another character asking what the heck Tsukune is , which makes me think that there is still some kind of difference between Tsukune and typical Shinso vampires, probably because Tsukune was originally a human, if even Tohou Fuhai who knows about the existence of Shinso vampires, is unable to discern what Tsukune is...

I do wonder if the last needle will allow Tsukune to regain his sense of control. Or perhaps it still won't complete the transformation because as Fuhai-sensei implied, he didn't exactly know what he was and I get the sense the one carrying out the ritual needs to know exactly what the subject is in order to properly transform him. The first 108 needles were required to transform his body according to what kind of youkai he would turn into. Say for instance that rather than Moka's blood, it was another vampire's blood he took (like Kokoa for instance). Would he need 108 needles before the final one, or would he need even less because the process of transforming Tsukune was easier due to a smaller abundance of youki in his blood? We'll see in the next chapter I suppose.

... but judging from the various information about what Tsukune is, scattered around the manga, I'm starting to think that Tsukune isn't becoming a vampire, but because of the fact that Tsukune was originally a human, he is developing into a different kind of being then a vampire...

Of course, since Tsukune obtained his abilities from a vampire there are going to be a lot of similarities between Tsukune and naturally born vampires, despite Tsukune being a different kind of species

Well, I can't do anything about it, since despite me thinking that Tsukune is going to look more human like in his final form, he's still looking pretty cool in his current one as well

Regarding the needless, while I agree that planting the 109 needle might not be everything that needs to be done, to return Tsukune back to normal, I still believe it's a necessary step for Tsukune to get back to his normal state...

After all, let's not forget that after this training arc is over, Tsukune is still going to need to fight with Akua, and if he weren't capable of defending against the Jigen-tou at that point, then the current developments wouldn't make a lot of sense...

Meaning that Tsukune still has to "learn" how to defend against the Jigen-tou and, even if things aren't going as planned, I still believe that the modification ritual is going to be completed, to allow Tsukune to defend against the Jigen-tou.

I think that Tsukune's transformation occurred at this point, to "stabilize" Tsukune's body and bring his other attributes closer to Akua's level... even if it involves Tsukune going out of control for some time...

Of course, I don't think that Tsukune is going to be able to fully control his powers yet, meaning that they are probably going to need to be limited in some way again, but since Tsukune probably won't be restricted by the Holy Lock anymore, after he regains control over his body, I think that Tsukune is going to be capable of using a much higher extent his abilities, then he was before... his body transformation.

There is only one problem with the 109th needle thing... that being that it may be necessary for all the 108 needles that had already been put into Tsukune to be present once the 109th is inserted. I don't think putting it in now would work because when Tsukune transformed, all the other needles were forcibly ejected from him. Though I could be wrong, but if I'm right, it's gonna be one hell of a long and bloody fight trying to get Tsukune subdued enough to get all the needles back in to complete the ritual with that final needle.

But if it's alright to not have them present, then it's an easy fix.... except that Fuhai would need a recharge of Youki in order to do so... But before that, he would need to be alive and capable of doing that first. This IS a type of acupuncture you know.
