I love this show, brings back so many memories, I remember watching "Tranzor Z" back in I think 2nd grade, and the theme song just rules. This is only going to be a 26 episode series? I was hoping it was going to be a long running show.

Great Mazinger had 56 episodes.
Grendizer had 74 episodes.

More the likely the God Scrander will be a Jet Scrander 2.0 they create using the combat data they gather. Especially since they were the ones who created the Jet Scrander they would want to make it even more powerful

The only time Tet...I mean 'Blade' had an upgrade is the Mazinkaiser OVA. The giant Great Booster. Also in the OVA Mazinkaiser was a reserved Mazinger which is more powerful than MazingerZ. Gotta wonder if Juzo has hidden it somewhere in Shin Mazinger.

Oh bloody wow, using the OP during episode 11 was one hell of a choice. It played such an important role during the battle underwater. Also loving the epic cliffhanger, with of course epic dialogue from the narrator who speaks out Kouji's inner thoughts.

Uhh... not exactly episode 12, but Natsu no Arashi anime has this guessing anime game and has these pictures of other animes. Shin Mazinger Z is no exception.

Spoiler for episode 12:

Shin Mazinger flies to the sky with Jet Scrander! Naked Sayaka and the final Gamina robot which Kouji kills. Not much of fan service if you like doll joints, that's the only NAKED you'll see as much here. The Gamina robot is ALWAYS killed by Kouji by laser which is cut in half, manga, old anime and Mazinkaiser OVA.

I just figured out that this show really is out of sync with the type of series you're likely see in the 21st century. Even the style of it is retro, not just the artwork. Especially those narrator moments that Imagawa loves so much.

Also I'm beginning to really like Kurogane. It's like having a strong willed female character in your series without being absurdly obvious and exploitative of it as an idea.

Not really Devilman and MazingerZ's timeline is at par with each other Tsubasa is a character from Violence Jack and Devilman had an old Xover with MazingerZ

Duh, do you really think I dont know all that?
Anyway Imagawa is picking up characters and plot points from Nagai's original mangas, not their shitty anime adaptations .
In fact, the Devilman anti-demon corps are manga-only.
So, the Devilman you're talking about (the baby blue one) doesnt matter at all. I'm talking manga Devilman which is totally different from anime Devilman, and manga Devilman doesnt really have anything to do with any of nagai's robots.
I was just saying that since that stuff from Devilman and Violence Jack appeared, along with the Kurogane characters, it might not be too farfetched if we see Devilman and Jack himself appear somehow in the future. In fact we already had Mao Dante in episode 1, and that's Devilman's prototype. Therefore I trust in Imagawa and hope that stuff in episode 13 isnt just trollbait

Well ever since then whenever Gonagai stuff is animated there are references to his other works and characters added to the story.

He's like Stan Lee where he always guess stars Spiderman in various comics like the fantastic4, then Avengers...etc.

Just finished episode episode 12, great episode, they should expand on that gaping hole, and put like a missle launcher in there or something, wait a minute, when I was a kid I made a giant robot, that had that feature. Called him Tranzor 27, later shortened to just T-27

That episode wasn't very fluid but that was compensated with Nuke and Mucha kicking ass for the first time.

So how the hell did Shiro and little miss adorable get to Germany?

I quite like how the opening scene of this episode basically tell us how this story will end. Only a few good directors can pull this off, and Imagawa is one of them. It's not the first time he's done this method.

So Tsubasa turns out to be Shiro and Kouji's Mother? Seriously didn't see that coming. Look forward to more of that next episode.

He's really filling in all the holes that were once insignificant and making them great additions to the plot. He created a love triangle out of nothing lol

But he changed the fight with Mario N7, we could have had some more Sayaka-san fan service.

I had my doubts but I saw that coming. We never saw Kouji's mother before, but when Kouji said in the first episode "yokumo ore no kasan wa" or something like that, that was a dead giveaway that we would know/see his mother soon.
