Synopsis: In a hidden school surrounded by mountains, young ladies of good families are taught everything a high class lady needs to know. They are also completely cut off from the outside world, keeping them sheltered and innocent. However, a problem has come up recently-- more and more graduates are failing to cope with the modern world after graduation. To deal with this problem, they've decided to kidnap a male commoner student, and enroll him as a student. They hope that this will be a gentle way to introduce the girls to the outside world.

Kagurazaka Kimito is chosen for this dubious honor, mostly because he seems utterly average. However, the school leaders also seem to have concluded he's a homosexual with a muscle fetish. When Kimito hears that the alternative may be castration (to protect the girls' purity), he eagerly plays along with this misconception. Now he'll just have to survive the attention of many high class young ladies that are completely out of touch with the world!

The premise sounded a bit terrible on its own especially with the latter part of it (I do however commend some original elements such as the MC being an homosexual stuck in a harem full of beautiful girls, which is actually rare). I started to get a little bored with harem stuff as the recent stuff seems trite, though if it turns out to be better than expected and/or have a decent staff, I'll watch it.

But he's not.

So basically, he's the typical passive harem protagonist who has male friends but no female friends until the plot begins. He won't make a move on any of them, leading to the stalemate seen in many harems.

The only remotely original part is the misconception, but unless the people who kidnapped him are watching him every second, he won't even keep up the act most of the time.

I just saw the news a couple of hours ago. Am I surprised that this series got green-lit. Not really? I knew it'll possibly happen but it was just a matter of when. None the less, I really enjoy the manga and the novel and I hope this will be a good adaptation. Can't wait to see how this will develop from now until its actual release.

He's not a homo but has to play the part in order to preserve his manhood, if you know what I mean?

As far as harem leads go, he's sort of the few who breaks new ground from the males love and interests of breast. Putting it simply...he has a thigh fetish. Which is the first I've seen or heard in terms of a harem leads preference for woman.

He does have male friends but he also has a childhood female friend who's pretty mean spirited and nasty. She's also one of the reasons why the school concluded that he's a homo with a muscle fetish.

The only person who watches him is the maid he gets assigned to, but she's really cold and spiteful to the MC for reasons he can't seem to understand. And will go out of to ensure that he plays his "role" according much to his chagrin.

Here's the thing. There are situations where he will have to play the role of the "homo" once every so often. As to why...you'll have to see.

Oooh, Seto Asami as the first billed female character in the drama cd? If they keep her for the anime tv series, there's like an 80% that the character she's playing as at least a 'forgotten childhood friend'. *crosses fingers*

I know, I know, small sample size, but I can't help but feel that Seto either is typecasted or maybe even *gasp* actively seeks out playing osananajimi characters as her 'lead' roles.

(For the record, yes I know there's already the 'regular' childhood friend character, but last cour's Gaworare and Nisekoi proved that a story can fit in more than one in a harem. )

Well, the MC has to pretend that he's gay and only into muscles. If he gets found out a certain maid will cut his genitals off

The main girl is "tsun-pure" which basically means she'll believe anything you say, which the MC abuses to troll her to no end

All of the girls are ridiculously isolated and act like Ojou-samas from shoujo manga, which causes some oddities when interacting with the modern day MC.

Other than that, fairly standard. Like most of these stories, a large portion of their uniqueness comes from the backstory and character development over several volumes. Hence we probably won't get far enough in the anime for it to really separate from the crowd.
