Wakako-zake

Quote:
The May issue of Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Comic Zenon magazine is announcing on Wednesday that a television anime adaptation of Chie Shinkyū's Wakako-zake manga has been green-lit. It also reports that the previously announced live-action television project has an over-the-air broadcast green-lit.

I like that character design.

Now this is something to look forward, i've skimmed through the story and it seems interesting enough to check the anime.

- I'll probably give this series a miss. It sounds too much like my daily life to be comfortable.

Damn, how I miss the points system at times like this...

This looks interesting - an adult series about adult issues. The manga is awfully well-regarded, too.

This is going to be the year of food related manga, isn't it? Man, it's great when Shonen Jump has a hit in some off-the-wall genre and other magazines start adapting anything they have that's remotely similar.

This sounds better than Soukoku no Souma though.

Hey, at least you're one step closer to getting an anime adaptation of your life.

EDIT: OH SHIT. Miyuki Sawashiro as Wakako. Oh snap, oh snap, I might just have to pick this one up.

That was two minutes well spent. I didn't like the character design of Wakako, but I'll get used to it. The food was well done. And the wisps of idea that floated through keep resonating. And, of course, I loved the expert work of Miyukichi, who gave us a voice I don't recall hearing from her.

So far, I differ with ninjastarforcex about this season. I liked a lot of the first episodes: Gangsta, Rokka no Yuusha, Gate, Rampo Kitan, Charlotte, Chaos Dragon, even Seitokaichou and Shimoneta -- and I expect/hope to like Akagami no Shirayukihime. But I'm a first-episode optimist, lol.

The weird design of Wakako's what got me interested in the first place haha, I like her design for some reason.

I like skin on my salmon with rice too so I agree with the guy, wouldn't do a Wakako and eat it on its own.

Agreed ... there is something rather ... erm ... "floaty" and yet reflective about this first episode that I enjoyed.

Definitely a keeper. ^^

Indeed...deep fried foods really ARE unfair, aren't they? And the DO go well with cold beer too. Argh!

Wakako is jokes. Her voice, her design and she loves her food. And if it tastes good, I don't worry about how healthy it is lol. Just find a way to burn it off or take the fat.

Fried food and beer, always a good mix.

I love the way the food is animated in more detail than the characters.

This is a really nice little show.

Well, I must admit I like potato salad with hard boiled eggs as well...though the tea has never done much for me. Does seem like a pretty good and inexpensive meal, though. ^^
